I'd say most people didn't know about it until they were told. It's not like they were drawing attention to it.

I also find it funny that rape and murder are grand for a 12A movie, but pointing in the direction of a vagina is a big no-no. :pac:

i didnt know anything about the shot in question but watched the movie only a few hours ago and found it strange that it had been let in considering it was a 12A and Bond movies have had trouble with certs in the past.

take your point too re rape and murder can pass for a 12A movie - its the world we live in i suppose.

A couple more things I noticed, I know suspension of disbelief is key in films like this but there's no way an Alfa Romeo could have kept up that car chase without breaking down. How was the women that ended up dead and covered in oil caught. I know they didn't really have to show what happened to her but her just showing up dead made me think they left something out.

Also if the order of Flemings books is followed does that mean the next remake is Live and Let Die (how would they pull that of in a PC crazy society today?) and when will Felix get eaten by sharks?

I don't think they will remake any of the original films, maybe the unauthourised ones such as Never Say Never Again.

Haha it would've been brilliant if the transmission shaft had fallen out of the Alfa and it'd stopped dead in the middle of the road..

Then there's the fact that Bond is given a cocktail on his plane that happens to be identical to a cocktail he invented a few days beforehand (I assume he didnt order it as he says he doesnt know what it is and asks the barman to describe it. Could be wrong on that)

ye do yo uremember the name of that cocktail he invented? it's called a "vesper" which is why he says he doesnt kno what it is called!

That in itself was a remake of Thunderball.

Yes that makes sense...unfortunately like a lot of things in the film its not articulated particularly well.

I read it that Mathis was asking what is in the drink rather than what it is called...the fact that the barman explains the ingredients when Bond prompts him only adds to this.

Would've been more effective if Mathis had asked the barman whats in it, then asked whats it called to which Bond would reply "I dont know" or whatever.

In fairness we're talking about a film with an awfully badly done script. /sadface

Not quite sure what kind of cinematic masterpieces people were expecting of a Bond film that it got slated so badly but went to see it last night with a friend and we both enjoyed it and he like me is a big Bond fan. It's cheesy, action and babe filled. Does exactly what it says on the tin if you ask me.

I saw this today. I haven't read the rest of the thread but I thought it was really good—for a Bond film that is. Having said that, the editing was far too tight and the script was obviously a victim of the strike.

I really like this darker version of Bond. It's too bad that's probably the end of it though. After the negative reaction to this they'll probably go back to making slapstick.

    ?

Surely Roger Moore is too old now to make a Bond film? The other 15 Bond movies were certainly not slapstick.

with regards to the Alfa, the build quality of Alfa's (and Fiat's) has greatly improved over the last few years and there is no reason why the Alfa in the movie could not have been modded to produce more power.

Have to say thought it was a great film

Great to see how Bond became the Bond we all knew/know growing up...now we know why he dosent give a flying fook about anyone....all he's gonna be interested in now is getting the job done....by any means necessary

no more falling in silly love....well...except maybe one more time in OHMSS

Still dont understand why he didnt nail that Russian chick though!...tut tut :(
