    I'm out too

Period arrived 3 days early (which NEVER happens), no sore nipples beforehand (which I ALWAYS get) and pains in places I dont normally get pains - they were bad enough to wake me during the night

Really heavy and clotted so it's a bit all over the place this month. I am sure OH would say the PMS is still there though :o

As much as I had tried to prepare myself I know the first period after taking the decision of TTC would be tough

A bit all over the place today

    Best of luck everyone else

Minty I was the same for my first 2 or three cycles. Last time I got my period I was actually a bit weepy. Nothing wrong with it. I don't feel it so much now for this period (coming), everyone's different. Best of luck for this cycle!

    Thanks Mink

I knew I would feel a bit funny about it all.

The usual signs for AF were so different this time I was sure there was something was going on but again, I expected to feel that

    Hey all
Will try to keep this short and sweet, not used to posting on Boards so bear with me if I mess up!
Myself & OH have been TTC for many many years, We have been referred to Specialist and just wondering what should we be expecting to happen initially at the first appointment?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Hopeful35

I'm not hugely familiar with all the stuff that's done but I know a lot of ladies on here got blood tests (day 3 & 21) with their doc, also a sperm analysis for your partner. I think these can be done before going to a specialist, you may have already done it.

I think with a specialist you may get a HSG (clears out blockages in your tubes), ultrasound etc.

(Help me out more experienced TTCers!)

Have you done any of this stuff Hopeful or have you not had any testing - ie; you've only just gone to the GP re TTC?

    Hiya Hopeful35,
If your clinic is anything like mine, they will send you a letter in plenty of time explaining what tests you need beforehand.

We got called last November for our referral, about a month before they sent a letter - we both had to get blood tests at our GP- as far as I recall they involved checking for HIV, syphills, Hep B & C, Clamidya (?) Rubella, and for me, the hormone levels such as progesterone, Prolactin, (you will need an up to date smear test also) so the results would be known the day of the appointment. On the day itself, we went in at 10.30, he gave a semen sample which gets analysisd straight away, and an hour later we were having the couple consult, where we were asked some questions (mostly me about my cycle, and general health, and I had a transvaginal ultrasound. His results were also relayed to us then too. She also sent me for a HSG the week later.

In our case, all the tests came back fine, except for a hormone imbalance so she posted me out a prescription for meds and told me to give it 6 months. By may, I still wasnt pregnant, so got another appointment in June where she started me on Clomid + Pregnyl to strengthen ovulation. I got pregnant in August, and am 15 weeks along. :).

hopefully your experience with a fertilty specialist will be as brief and successful as ours ;).

I found that they were extremely good at explaining all the steps of the process to us that they wanted to do, and also the nurses we dealt afterwards during the visits for treatment and scans over the summer were the nicest I have ever met.

If you have any more questions, feel free to post them here. I will do my best to answer them.

Sorry to hear you're out Minty, Grawns and Mink.

Hopeful, I had the bloods drawn and the transvaginal ultrasound. The ultrasound showed that i have dermoid cysts (not causing problems with fertility but painful) and there could also be some endometriois hidden under the cysts. I'm due in to surgery this friday to have the cysts removed. However, in the meantime, I need to empty my thoughts
My last few cycles have been something like 67, 39, 37, 37 and 29 being my most recent so I was expecting this cycle to stay down around the 29 also. However, I got no +ive on the opks so have no idea if/when I ovulated. I had some ewcm on day 15 so we did the deed many times but then the following weekend (cd20) i had loads of ewcm and we didnt get to do the deed as hubby was in UK. Since then, I had cm until about cd24 and am having pains around right ovary but no sore boobs at all. I have been feeling exhausted and a bit nauceaus and now have sinusitis. Am praying these are all good signs. I havent tested yet. I think i'll do it thursday morning though so i know before i go to hospital.

Please keep your fingers crossed for me. xxx

    Hi guys,
I've been lurking but not posting much lately. We're on day 19 and using Maca, evening primrose oil and ovulation kit.
I had my return appointment with the miscarriage clinic, which other that making 1.5 hours late back from lunch, I'll have to work late all week, went fine. seemingly we have no issues and 70% chance of a healthy pregnancy next time.
It's weird that I wish there was a problem cause then there'd be an explanation, which could then hopefully be fixed. As it is our infertility was unexplained, and now three miscarriages are.
I guess we just keep going, we're going to discuss Napro tonight and decide and whether to go to see Dr Philip.

    Appreciate all your feedback

I've been diagnosed with PCOS, rarely ever get a period so never know when I'm ovulating. I had a scan done on my ovaries last year and was told that they looked fine, one slightly bigger than the other but was told that was nothing to worry about.
Was put on Clomid, but after 2 months I decided to stop as I felt that if there are issues I'd rather find out what they are and take it from there.

Good luck yellow hen. I hope you get a positive Thurs morning & don't have to do the op!

Barbiegirl, that's such a frustrating situation. There may be some who have experience with Napro. Is that the organisation that only takes married couples?

Hopeful35 I would be the same as you in that I'd want to identify any other issues before jumping into clomid. Don't they give you a particular tablet to bring on your period so that you can take clomid?

Well I'm on day 32, sore boobs & cramping for about 2 1/2 days, no AF though. I suppose technically I was late as of Sunday just gone but because period before that was 36 days, I'm more inclined to wait til next Sunday to test. Don't know if can hold out that long.

On the last few cycles my boobs were sore for about 4 days before AF came so maybe I'll see how I get on for next few days. Part of me really wants to do a test and the other part is telling me not to disappoint myself as I have all the usual PMS stuff going on. Even as I type I can feel cramps cranking up a notch. We'll see...

Let us know how you get on yellow hen.

Think I'm out, sore boobs & cramping started yesterday so expecting AF to make an appearance later today, which would make it a 30 day cycle - not too bad, 28 days cycle before.
Hi everyone , hope everyone on the 2ww gets good news , I had very similar pains to af pains before I took a test so I hope you get the same luck.

Sorry to hear that yellow hen. Hopefully the surgery will help things for next month, it's to remove cysts from your ovaries right?

Lads I think I may well be up the duff!

I got a positive on one of the tesco own brand preg tests, a definite line, not as strong as the control line but definitely a line. Going to do one of the digital ones in the morning.

Can't believe it, wasn't expecting it this month. It's very early days, will only be 5 weeks on sat. Just texted a photo of the test to my hubby for fun as a way to tell him. We won't see each other til tomorrow night which sucks.

Had my last smoke this morning! Wish me luck that this bean sticks! Definitely had all the PMS symptoms, cramps, sore boobs, bad skin etc.
