I'd go to the doctor for a chat. It's not going to do any harm to get checked out. (hugs)

thanks Lucyfur, think i mite go this month. really dont see how seen a doc will solve it though. hope yer all well

Talkin, you will feel better if you do go to the doctor. I was trying for a year before I went and starting to feel very down about not getting pregnant. Even just by talking it over with the doc, and her explaining the process of the tests involved and some of the more common medications that can help with minor ttc helped me feel more positive.

Talkin its definitely worth going to your GP, I went to mind when I was trying 6 months & she was very helpful.

She referred me to a gynae then, and 3 months on there's still no word. So sometimes its as well not waiting too long to go to your gp, as its the specialists you could be left waiting much longer to see.

I hope all goes well :)

Aunt Flo has arrived to spend the weekend; took her time! There's something cathartic about being back at the beginning, fresh start so to speak :)

    Morning:) How's everyone?

No bleeding at all since Thursday. Is it Tuesday yet? I still feel pregnant. I've no loss of symptoms at all, if anything, they're getting stronger.

    Legs firmly crossed:D:o:p

    Hi Ladies,
I've just finished reading all 77 pages of this thread and 2 and a half hours later I'm ready to post :p
I'm 30 almost 31 and my partner is 40 and we've just decided to start trying. My period has always been irregular so I've stocked up on ovulation strips to narrow down when I ovulate. I am currently on day 5 of my cycle so I'm due to start testing and trying next week so fingers crossed.

    Quick question ladies;

I've a scan on Tuesday. I'll be 5 weeks and 4 days (Hopefully, doing my best with positive thinking). I'm presuming it'll be a transvaginal scan. Do I need a full bladder??

Cramps were strange yesterday. Not sharp, more a dull ache/pressure type pain:confused: No bleeding/staining or spotting. Taking that as a very good sign. 2 more sleeps.........

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,196 ✭✭✭crazy cat lady

Lucyfur, I'm only getting round to posting now but been keeping an eye to see that you haven't bled since. 5 weeks is around the usual time for implantation bleeding. Thats why so many women do not realise they are pregnant until they are 8-9 weeks as they assume the implantation bleed is a slightly late, lighter period. Fingers and toes crossed that this is what you have experienced.

Did you and Mr Lucyfur do the deed before you had the bleed? This can sometimes be the reason for bleeding as the cervix becomes very vascular and can sometimes bleed very easily.

As for the scan, it will more than likely be a TransVaginal (TV) scan, however they may try to look abdominally first. You will need a full bladder for the abdo scan, however if they can't see anything they will get you to go pee before doing the TV scan. So I would go with a full bladder with they hopes of avoiding the TV scan.

I'm keeping everything crossed that everything is ok for you. With everything settling down I would be very hopeful :)

Enjoy the rest of the bank holiday weekend and try to relax. Its the very best thing you can do for yourself and your little bean

Poor Mr Lucyfur is not having sexual relations with this woman:p We've had no nookie since last weekend. I'm too afraid to, at least until we know what's happening. The midwife in the EPU asked the same thing. She told me to banish him to the spare room for now:eek:

I was thinking the same thing about the scan, happy now you've confirmed what I was thinking. I don't mind having a transvaginal scan, I've never had one but the thoughts of it doesn't bother me. However, the thoughts of having one with a full bladder terrifies me:p I turn into a 3 year old when I need the toilet. I've had a few ultra sounds and I'm literally crying in the waiting room:o But I'll be fine once I can relieve myself before they do one.

I've been doing nothing since Thursday. It's quite nice. Gonna head to the beach for a walk in a while. I love being beside water, makes me chilled and happy:D

Best of luck to everyone, hoping to heard more good news from everyone soon! :)

I had a transvaginal and it was a doddle, it's fairly thin and they only put a couple of inches in. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, I'm sending good vibes your way.

Post d&c period is very heavy ( no cramps) but my periods always are. Had to use a maternity pad last night as well as super extra lillet and and an always ultra. Fecks sake but clean sheets :)!

    Hugs barbiegirl xxx

Would you consider taking a month off?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,992 ✭✭✭dublinlady

Oh barbiegirl I hear ya! And lucyfur while I think your right, my mOnth off did me the world of good, there's no way I would have taken it if I hadn't had to!! I get more stressed out the longer this goes on as the thought of having to go further than blood tests and a scan terrifies me... I just feel like I really don't want to be 'that' person... Which is ridiculous.. 9 months after m/c so it's the way I'm headed!
Very resentful that myself And husband have to go through this wait with no guarantee of a happy ending :(
It's difficult to stay positive when everyone around you seems to be pregnant.. And we spend all
Month living hopefully only to get another dreaded period... And of course mine are only lasting a day other than brown mucous so then I just stress about that too... Oh I hate it all too barbiegirl... But not trying seems worse. I just want my baby and I want it now. End of.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,185 ✭✭✭Tigeress

Lucyfur hun best of luck tomorrow xxx I'm sure everything will be just fine :)

I got some brown discharge today :( only once but it wa a bit.. Hoping it's all ok..

Welcome Newbies :) hope you find this site as welcoming and educational as I did :)

Actually guys, could you explain to me what your ovulation pain is like? Or tell me if u think this could be mine? I'm on day 16 today and period varies from 27-34 days lately, last night I had a twanging pain in what felt like my left ovary, it just lasted a couple of mins, maybe even just one. The today I had a more generalised crampy ( almost period like) pain across my whole uterus area, with some sharp pains occurring randomly throughout. Then a slight twinge in what would feel like where my right ovary would be? Something like this happens most months I think but not really sure, will take a note from now on, does that sound like ovulation to you? I'm finding it impossible to check by cervical mucous this month as we pretty much trying every day for last few( just to be sure ;) ) and it's hard to differentiate what's mine and what's his... Sorry too much info!! Could do with ur opinions though please as not sure if these cramps are normal or not?

I'm on day 30 of my first cycle since coming off the pill and no sign of AF. Almost convinced myself of being pregnant earlier in the week but now I feel like there are mild period twangs showing up :(
    Live in hope though.....

  • Registered Users Posts: 32,513 ✭✭✭✭Lucyfur

Dublinlady, I know what you mean-taking a month off sounds so much easier than it is. I Don't know if I'd be able to take a month off.

My ovulation pain is always sharp pains in whatever side, lasting only a few seconds, but very very sharp while they're happening, followed by no more than 2 days of general cramps. Nothing ''painful'', I wouldn't ever need to take anything. For me it feels similar to period cramps, only less painful, if that makes sense.

Tigeress, keep up the positive thinking hun, hugs to ya and hopefully it's nothing to worry about. Thank you for the luck for tomorrow. I'm so nervous. I organised every cupboard in the kitchen and utility today. I hate clutter but I get 10 times worse when I'm worried over something. Everything is perfectly organised and clean:rolleyes: Had to stop myself from making a list of what's in each press and taping it to the door:rolleyes: My mother thinks I'm quackers. Mr Lucyfur knows better and got stuck in helping:D
