Tbh, I don't think I've ever noticed what a man is drinking when I meet him. It's never something that I would pay an ounce of attention to. I don't understand why anyone would give a flying fcuk what kind of glass I'm holding or what kind of drink I have in it.

Also, I drink pints when I feel like it, I drink shots when I'm in the mood, I had a cosmopolitan last night because I like the taste and it was cheap and I have a glass of wine whenever I want one. None of these drinks will tell you what kind of person I am and if you judge me on whichever one I happen to have in my hand at the time you meet me then you will never be any the wiser as to who I am or what I am about.

What I drink says absolutely nothing about my personality and if there is someone out there who believes that they can predict my thoughts and my feelings on the basis of what I choose to drink then that is truly laughable.

I usually drink Guinness when I'm out, but sometimes I have to order it in a glass to keep up, otherwise I'd get too shtfaced and messy.

Only from the real Porterhouse, not Judge Roy Beans the Porterhouse Central, or whatever they call it these days.

MMhm, acid-y. It's the sweet and sour that does it. God, they hate making that cocktail.

Everyone is different. If you are in a pub/club/bar and want to buy a girl a drink, and she is already drinking, you might offer her the same? Then again, she may be on a budget or be tired of the one she has... Asking her might give you the one-liner you need?

I like to occasionally sip a glass of wine with dinner, but I would not order wine for a sports event. That calls for a pint!

    How do you mean?

Surely the best drink for anyone is just whatever they like the most.

    Exactly.

But if you want to appear somewhat classy wine or the fizzy stuff is good, but too much of it.

I actually thought the OP was taking the P***, same poster wondering about car guide for women? :D
Personally it depends on mood - wine for meals, cocktails to start a night out, and spirits to finish. Not a fan of beer - would love to be as would save a fortune!! Only time I drink it is at concerts when that's all they're dishing out, and as a result manage to spend most the night queuing outside the portacabins

a few months ago i was out with my friend and his friends(who i had never met before)

i ordered a pint of coors light..one of my friends "lady-like" friends first words to me were "eugh, that's a mans drink!!" with a little giggle...

an hour later she was being escorted from the place by a bouncer for "indecent behaviour" with a member of the opposite sex while i was sensibly enjoying my night with another cool pint of coors!!:D

point of story-drink what you want, and don't mind anyone who may criticize it, i don't think much of folk who judge things like that-as they'll be the ones caught with their pants down(literally):p:p

I have no idea and what does it matter if we drink pints, shots, pitchers..

Unless you care what other people think (which I certainly don't) Drink whatever tickles your fancy:p

Personally i would never drink beer or a pint because i don't think its 'ladylike' so to speak, but i would never judge someone else the same way. People are entitled to drink what they want. Saying a man will find you unattractive because you have a pint is like saying they won't find you attractive because of fake tan/hairstyle/clothes/accent etc. Maybe they'll find you unattractive, maybe they won't but if they do judge you like that they're clearly not worth your time.

I'm the same TBH, bit of an old fashioned girl here :) An comment made by an uncle when I was about 14 put me off ever drinking a pint. Besides I find the glass uncomfortable to hold and it would get warm by the time I'd finish it.

Wine, vodka or whiskey for me.

Thats true, and I would agree with you 99.99999% of the time, but I went on a date a few weeks ago with a guy and he was drinking WKD Blue.... that stuff is just plain nasty!!!!!!

    I'm a failure as a woman. ;_;

Me too. I drink beer, and might do a few shots is the girls are too. i drink whatever drink im in the humour for that night...although within reason. i wont go over board and lose control though. no need in making a fool of myself or putting myself in danger.

But at the end of the day, its a drink and life is so short so drink what you like and dont worry about what other people think of you cos you are not drinking what they would like to see you drink!!!

Used to LOVE Bacardi Breezers, Smirnoff Ice, etc..yer typical girly drinks! THEN came the day I got braces and I was warned to go off them...along with cider, the only other drink I liked! So then I discovered beer - actually I quite like Bud and Heineken now - have also dabbled a lot in vodka, but that leads to quite messy circumstances so I won't be going there again for a while...also quite partial to the odd glass of rosé.....

this story shines a lovely light down on my view, thankee

it doesn't matter if you've a nice dainty glass of wine in your hand with your pinky in the air, or a big manly pint that makes you grow a hearty beard it's so manly. if youre so wasted you're being tossed out on your ass, youre not gonna look good. at all.

me, only started drinking when in hit 18 *halo* started on alcopops, they soon made me sick. moved to cider, which makes my face go numb if i drink more than a pint. im now a jack + coke girl. and darn ladylike, thank you very much :D

oh ...jack nd coke here! extremely lady like!!! bottles of bud light either....:D:D

Drinking pints is never very ladylike. I drink vodka with diet coke, or wine usually.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,131 ✭✭✭MissHoneyBun

I very rarely drink but when I do it varies from a glass of red or a G+T to a Guinness or a beer. And to be honest I couldnt give a rats ass what anyone makes of what i'm drinkin. Is there *anything* a body can do anymore without being judged?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,420 ✭✭✭JaneyMc

If someone is going to base their opinions of me by the size of glass I drink out of, that'd be enough to tell me that they are not the kind of person I'd like to have a drink with in the first place.
I get into a worst state when I'm drinking "girlie" drinks than when I'm on the pints!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,290 ✭✭✭trowelled

Usual tipple these days is gin and tonic, keep getting called Pauline Fowler for that one but I don't care I like it!!! Love ocktails, love making em and love drinking em. When a long island iced tea is made right it's damn good, hate when it's made with that sourz crap(too sickly sweet) instead of plain old lemon and lime (Woolsheds is the best imo). Can be lethal though, 5 white spirits afterall!!

But there'sno such thing as an appropriate drink for a lady. You drink whatever you like the tast of, whether it be alcoholic or non alcoholic! Type of glass you drink from means F*** all and would you really wanna associate with someone who would judge you for something as trivial as that!!
