oh jesus. thats gonna weigh a ton!

size wise i think most tower's wont take it. your gonna need something pretty impressive to hold this bad boy.

  • Subscribers Posts: 6,408 ✭✭✭conzy

    its 1.1kg afaik :D

And who needs a bigger case? Cut a hole in the side panel yeee haw!

Has to be a great performer, but its the ugliest thing i've ever seen. What height is it? looks higher than tuniq.

  • Subscribers Posts: 6,408 ✭✭✭conzy

The fan blows air down through the tower, its 155mm tall :o

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,824 ✭✭✭RoyalMarine

ah that looks a little bigger than 155mm!
if the fan on top is 140mm then from the base by the cpu to the top of the fan must be at least 180 - 190mm

  • Subscribers Posts: 6,408 ✭✭✭conzy

the fan is probably 30mm so yup :P

My Lian Li PC7 plus is 210mm wide, So it would just about fit, I would need to cut a 140mm duct in the side panel though...

Its a seriously ****ing ugly thing, but id like to see some tests on it first. And i dont like the way it will blow warm air back onto the board, NB and ram. Inverting the fan would make it useless.... Hmm... Dunno about this one.

    Ugly as sin...

i will be ignoring this one until I see benchs. I remember getting hyped about the CM Gemini II and TR IFX-14 only to be dissapointed.

  • Subscribers Posts: 6,408 ✭✭✭conzy

I think they have already hit the peak of aircooling with this lots of fins on lots of heatpipes design...

I mean the TR IFX-14 is almost two TR Ultra-120 Extremes and it only shaves another 3-4 degrees off....

    orochi-300inst05.jpg

i like this of putting 3 x 140mm fans on it
    orochi300-fan-inst02.jpg

    orochi300-ho05.jpg

    120 x 194 x 155mm

    orochi300-ho03.jpg

i wonder if a mobo could handle it properly? its over 1.1kg!

    pwnage TBH

3 fans would be counter productive. I think that just demonsstrates how the fan can be mounted in different posisitions.

The fins are too far apart.
Should be half the size, double the number of fins and made out of copper.

I think what they are aiming for is that the fins have a higher conduction rate ,than copper and the fins actually suck the heat from the copper.

The architecture of this beast is similar to a graphics card i got lately and the card is excellent at keeping cool.

    tested across on extremesystems linky

guy has an intel 8400 clocked from 3 to 4ghz with 1.5v and is getting 42-44 idle and 70 on load which is kinda high but apparently the fan is slow spinning and more importantly silent:D

holy cr@p that thing is hideous!

Its takin over the entire top part of the pc ffs! grand if u jus want a quite pc in a case with no window so ya dnt have ta look at the bloomin thing. but jesus, that cooler jus ruins the aesthetics of the inside of a 'puter. yikes!

Surely motherboards aren't designed to take that kind of weight? Wouldn't it make sense to have some sort of brackets or supports off the bottom or sides of the case?

Why dont they just build a heatsink that is also the case.
Or at least support the motherboard from the heatsink

Oh yeah a case made of 5mm thick aluminum or copper as the place to conduct heat to

would really love a laptop with solid aluminum base

  • Subscribers Posts: 6,408 ✭✭✭conzy

    lol?

    Also, heatsink case:
