Just been onto sales guy about this and sounds interesting. They're calling it "4g mobile" with max dl 5.4megs upload 1meg. About €30 per month with €130 installation & 15GB cap.
In the rural Clonee area of Co. Meath (near Damastown) and was thinking of getting this. Anyone have any good / bad stories about this service & do they still have this rolling download limit / cap that features in other discussions?
Mainly wanting it for home / small business use basically Web, eMail, VOIP, iTunes purchases.
    Advice much appreciated.

I'm hoping no news is good news as my dad just ordered it. Should have it within 7-10 days. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, I just got off the phone re Digiweb mobile. He called it "multi". Wondering if its available in Howth (see other thread). Said its zero contention apparently...

4G, yes you could call it that however it all sounds good and can deliver what it's spec ed for. but like all fully mobile internet access it's a step up from 3G, it's your casually internet user with email, VoIP, little MP3 downloads. it will looks and preforms great!, but it;s it's heavy P2P that you may expect to do, then your better off with a fixed connection.

Sure when you get it, let us know whats it like

Maybe no backhaul contention? But only fixed point to point single user wireless has no contention. He must have been referring to something else.

Yeah the guy I spoke to also said there's no contention. (Sounded like a French accent).
Fingers crossed it'll all work out. We had Callidus but it didnt really work out. :(

    What the hell? 744kb/s !!!
Wheres the 5.4Megs? I dunno if we'd be bothered paying €30 a month for anything less than 2Mb/s download.
That sucks. And people are saying its a good service?
I'm not sure what pings are and how they affect speed but 744k - Callidus was better than that.
Damn. Will just have to wait & see.

See it depends how for you are from the mast. I believe the mast I connect too is in Balbriggan the bracken court hotel which is a good distance from me.
By the way this is quite fast for my house as other parts of it are allot slower.
    What are othe people getting
Watty what to you think of these speeds am I getting allot slower than others.

It arrived in the post today & my Dad set it up (the router - for a desktop).
    Think he only got 400k!
€30 a month for that? Feck off Digiweb with your 5.4megs!
It'll be going straight back to them in the post unless theres some external aerial that might boost the signal (doubt it though if its not line of sight).
    This sucks

Also cant believe they charge €130 for "installation" when they post it out to you and you install it yourself. What a rip off!
