I'm trying to work out for the folder, how to wire up the motor for the lifting mechanism with a dpdt switch to reverse it, and two LEDs while the motor is in operation.
Can't work it out though, when the switch is in reverse to run the motor in reverse, if the current is going through the LEDs the other way, will that not stop the flow?
any explanations would be a great, I think I'd cry tears of joy if someone could put up aa pic :p

What you'd have to do is wire the LED's in parrallel, rather than series.

Here is how to wire the dpdt switch.

The wiring on my crane is fairly complicated, I have to wire an actuator(Firgelli PQ-12f) and two motors, all with forward-stop-reverse.

One of these motors will be connected to lights(front and back), and to "revers" lights when in reverse mode. It will also have a switch on the crane arm itself that will only engage when the arm is down. This means it cannon be driven when the arm is up.

The second motor will be for the cable on the crane, with forward-stop-reverse again.

There will also be a switch to switch from "crane mode" to "drive mode". which also controls some lights.
