Today I went to a Skoda dealer as we have decided it maybe time to change the car. I saw a 2005 Skoda Octavia 1.4 Ambiente with 40k km on it. Had all the usual, airbags, electric windows and mirrors, fog lights, CD player etc and the asking price was 13k with a full 12month guarantee. It had all new tyres fitted and there wasn’t a mark anywhere on it except one hubcap was scratched.

My questions are, is this a good price and secondly to anybody that has one, is this going to be a economical car as it is a fairly big with a small engine. Performance isn’t that important to me but economy is. Thanks for any info.

If you look at http://www.carzone.ie you will see that the price is quite reasonable. The car is underpowered, but OK for urban driving.

Very true, I checked the prices on websites, would you recommend another type of car or are the Skoda as good as you will get for the money now.
