Are they the same in the whole universe or does each galaxy have its own laws?

Yes, they are the same everywhere in the observable Universe, timetogetfit. It's important to remember, however, that the laws we have developed for describing the Universe are just best approximations (but they are remarkably accurate!)

The laws o' science as we know them may differ throughout the multiverse though..... :-0

Surely its more accurate to say that we believe they are the same everywhere in the observable universe.

Put it this way. There are loads of gravitational lenses hundreds of millions and billions of light years away away where the light from a background galaxy is bent around a foreground galaxy by the foreground galaxies gravity just as Einsteins theories predicted. So Einsteins theory of gravity seems to be universal at any rate. So its not a case of believing Einsteins theory of gravity is universal....we know its universal. Is it logical to think that its just this particular law of nature that is universal or would it be more logical to assume that all laws are universal.
