Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yuji Nagata Suffers Possible Stroke

    From the Observer:
Yuji Nagata, 39, a two-time IWGP heavyweight champion, was rushed to the hospital earlier today when he showed up at Tokyo Sumo Hall for the New Japan show complaining of severe pain in the brain and no control of the left side of his body.

According to those backstage, Nagata was speaking clearly, which was a good sign. His right side was fine. He said he had severe headaches two weeks ago but continued to wrestle and never got them checked out. Doctors at the show thought he may have suffered a stroke.

His match at the event was called off obviously. He's only 39, I hope this doesn't end up being as serious as a stroke. He's put on some excellent matches in the last two years and it would be a real shame if he had to stop

Here's hoping he gets back to full health

Nagata has been fantastic lately. Here's hoping he gets back to full health as soon as possible. Didn't Takayama have the same thing and he's been able to work afterwards so fingers crossed on that score.

I don't think Takayama had an actual stroke, it was a blood clot in his brain that could have led to a stroke if not treated. No official word on Nagata's diagnosis yet, so you can't really tell

MMA fans might be interested to know that Nagata has had two MMA fights. One against Cro Cop and one against Fedor. I'm sure you can guess the results! Bigger balls than Kurt Angle anyway

    Latest update is this:
Results of the MRI on Yuji Nagata revealed no brain abnormalities but he will be undergoing several more tests over the next day.

Nagata had a dizzy spell and lost power on the left side of his body when training during the afternoon Sunday before a scheduled match with Hirooki Goto at Sumo Hall in Tokyo. He was rushed to the hospital and it was feared he had suffered a stroke or effects of a serious concussion.

That's probably the best news possible for now. New Japan have provisionally entered him into the New Japan Cup, that takes place next month. Rhino's in it too this year
