I'm looking for a silent GFX card for my HTPC, it won't be used for gaming but silence is very important.

This card looks fine but I see someone on komplett mention that it's a bit noisy using anything that's a bit heavy.

Will this card be ok for just watching TV/Movies?

Or can anyone recommend a better card?

The HTPC will have a blu-ray player

This heatpipe card is completely silent , theres nothing on it to make any noise , review here , and available on komplett for 92 euro.

I guess some heatpipe cards have fans .... this one doesnt.

Edit , just read that komplett review again , there is no fan !!! Vibrating heatsink , unbelievable !! That doesnt make sense ! There certainly is no part on any graphics card produced any electrical signal that could cause audible vibration ... Baffling !

I haven't a clue how someone could think a card without any fan is making noise, he must be mistaking something else for it, hard drive vibration or the like.

If you're not playing games I'd opt for something like this. Silent, low power consumption, great connectivity and very reasonably priced. The only downside being that if you ever decided to play any recent games it'd be pretty much crap.

Nope, it will never be used for gaming under any circumstances. :D
