I know theres a specialised forum but I figure these channels may come through
off Powers mast or something similar so may be localised.
But a friend of mine got an LCD with a digital tuner , tuned in the analogue channels and was messing around and tried tuning on the digital scanner.
To his surprise he picked up 1,2,3,4, along with a few national radio station , both displaying a basic digital epg.
Anyone know about this, he only has a standard VHF and UHF aerial, aware there is DTT trials going on in the Dublin regions but it's a first to hear it down here.

Mount Leinster is broadcasting the channels on DTT. It is not an official service however. There is a thread about it on the Terrestrial board.

No fanfare as it is not an official launch.

scout353, are you using any special aerial to get the signal? I'm in Tramore but when I scan for digital channels I find nothing. I have one of those power boosted rabbit ears type things connected to the television,

I have the regular UHF & VHF ariels on the roof so there is nothing special about the set-up. I am presuming that the signal is being picked up by the UHF ariel.

I doubt if rabbits ears would pull in the signal from Mount Leinster though.

Forget those, they are rubbish. You will need a proper aerial on the roof.
