Is this car worth 5K

I checked this car during week. Am trying to get seller to drop to 4.5k, but he isnt budging on it, saying its worth at least 5k. Bear in mind the front bumper is all skratched(Dosent mention in the add and cant see in picture), No tax, N0 CD player. I was pointing out that I would need to pay for all this to fix adnd update tax,so would he drop but nothing.

it seems to be pretty low mileage for a 2001. A car that old could easily be pushing 94000 miles. So that would point to it being worth more than less if you catch my drift. Also NCT till 2009 means less hassle as well.

Check buyandsell.ie and compare what they are going for on there

offer him 4.5k or 4.7k and walk away and look for another one, he'll not sell it for 5k anyway in my opinion

Certainly Seems A Bit Pricy For A Car Model That Has Been Replaced 2 Times Since That Model

Personally Would Not Buy It, Even For € 4500, When You Go To Resell It You Will Will Take A Further Hit

Eash To Their Own But Would Go For A Fabia Instead- Essentially The Same Car But Bigger...all Parts From Vw Golf And Polo So You Know They Are Good...checked The Buyandsell And There Is One With 41 Mkls 5 Door H/b With Fsh For € 4000...2001 Year, So Save Yourselve Even More Money- If You Can Get The Estate Version Of The Fabai Even Better. Demand for the Polo Classic (4 dr saloon) is nowhere near the same as the hatchback. The only plus point I can see with it is that it has power steering which alot of the hatchbacks don't.

That seller who is looking for anything more than €4k for a 7 year old unpopular model which is no longer made is simply dreaming.

As already mentioned look at the Seat Cordoba its the same car just has a different badge, better speced and cheaper.

Stay away from the polo saloon, they're **** cars. You can do much better. Go for a golf or a ford focus.

look for a car up North, pay the VRT - voila - cheap car, much higher spec, probably the same mileage and improved saleability when it comes time to move it on again - simple.

Have to agree, they're about as desirable as a dose of the clap. Unless you need a car really quickly, let them stew for a while maybe 6 to 8 weeks, then go back and offer €3,500.
