Garmin Nuvi GPS

Hey all, thinking about dipping into the world of GPS. From reading the GPS Forum. The Garmin Nuvi Range seems to be about the best recommendation for the beginner.

I was leaning towards the 250 (Non Widescreen) and so far the best price i've come across is €162.14 on Elara excluding postage

Can anyone give me any pointers to anywhere cheaper, the threads I found seem to have dead links and outdated offers.

I'm also open to other suggestions, maximum budget about 200 I guess. No point spending too much unless i'm sure ill use it.

Check out Halfords, they are doing a GPS sale at the moment

Thanks for that, just rang my local branch (Kilkenny) - €200 for the standard 250, so no luck there Thanks though

I was looking for these a while back...

There was a higher level one which had some cool interactivity with your phone... I can't remember if it read your SMS messages aloud, or acted as a bluetooth speaker/interface for your phone.... That's the one I was gonna buy, but I never did.

Anyway... I found great deals in Woodies at the time... Maybe worth checking it out?

That price your quoting on memory c is Ex Vat.

I cant stand sites that do that with stuff. It's not like they only sell to trade.

Woodies ? Never realised they did GPS systems, ill give them a ring in a bit. Thanks.

Is it bollox, I was thinking it was a little on the cheap side. Oh well. Looks like Elara is still in the lead then I guess. Cheers for pointing that out though.

EDIT - Just rechecked Elara's price is also without VAT - bollox it anyway

Checked out the MemoryC site (http://www.memoryc.com/gpsnavigation/systems.html) - you can set the pricing to show incl. VAT if you prefer that, see the top right corner of that page.

Unfortunately. I had a look earlier andnone of their retailers seem to ship to Ireland. Thanks though its an excellent price. I dont know anyone up the North to get it routed through either.

I got my satnav off them and they are based in dublin. Prices are okay I think
