Leather car seats

    I'm thinking it would be nice to have leather seats in my car. I'm wondering if there is anywhere around Dublin that do this? Or anywhere in the North if it's cheaper? I can only find one company in the UK from google for it.

    Ideally I'd just buy some leather seats from a crashed car in scrap yard and swap the seats myself, but it's a 406 coupe which are fairly rare. There was one in England I was thinking of getting the seats from but adding up the total cost of the seats, petrol, boat I just don't think I would save much more than just getting somebody to do it professionally.

    My thinking for having leather seats would be that I prefer them! But also that when I go to sell my car it'll stand out a bit more than other rivals.

    Just around the corner from you! Cartronics in the Santry Hall industrial estate (I think) behind the AIB in Santry will Retro Fit leather. Probably around 2-2.5 k for a standard saloon.

    Buy a used leather interior. Will be much cheaper.

    I dealt with Breakers in London and they were prepared to throw them on a pallet for me and TNT collect. I didn't end up buying there but it's cheaper than collecting.

    I got a set from a breaker in the UK & delivery was £120 sterling. £120 was the going rate for a pallet load. Looks the mutts nuts too.

    I had to go collect a pallet in Southhampton in August. It couldn't be couriered, no other option. Huge pain in the mammaries and terribly expensive. Not to be repeated by choice.

    Can't understand that; plenty of shipping companies will handle pallet loads; that's what they're for.

    More like €3,000 - €4,000.

    It's usually much cheaper to sell your existing car a buy a similar one with leather fitted as standard.

    This guy is also very good to deal with and is breaking something like 10 coupes at present: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/ade1122/

    Unfortunately both of them are in the UK… but delivery could be arranged.

    Traynors are dismantling a 2000 coupe – but as you can see from the photo the interior has been removed but may be stored – maybe give them a buzz

    It wasn't a pallet as such. Although it could have been loaded onto a pallet. The stuff had to be removed from a lockup checked and loaded. It wasn't drugs btw.:D I had other business in Southhampton that day too.

    Due to the time of year I had to do it in less than 24 hours to get the daytrip fare. The peak season fares were a bit pricey.

    My route was:
    Dublin -> Rosslare
    Fishguard -> Southanpton
    Southampton -> Holyhead
    Dublin Port -> Home

    All in under 24 hours. Nightmare.

    Those cabins on the ferry are real flea pits.

    It's actually come down in the past couple of years. Used to be around €2800 for a Santa Fe. Last time I got something done it was around €1800 on a 3 Series. I doubt I'm getting a 50% trade discount.
