Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I reckon he'd flop.

Not just based on last nights performance but his attitude and work rate overall.

    Joy to watch sometimes though.

He'd have a hard time against a wall of 6'4" defenders and no-nonsense defensive midfielders which is the Prem way these days.

    Mike.

He has come to Anfield twice and both times he did nothing

Very hard to say. If you had of put up a poll a few years back saying "Would Shevchenko/Veron/Mutu make it in the Premiership" I would have said fcuk yeah to all 3. Didn't really work out for any of them though.

I could see him getting sent off alot, but i think he'd do well.

Before Arse played Juve a few years back Wenger said he was keen on signing him before. i think that says that Arsene certainly thinks he would.

I'd actually love if United signed him. Think he'd be better than Berbatov. He has a questionable attitude but you can't really deny his class.

for the past few months people were saying he is the best striker in the world he had one bad game last night and everyone is doubting him. yes i think he would make it in the prem

Arse as good as had him the story doing the rounds at the time was he got caught impersonating a cop in soho or amsterdam, Arsenal knew he was a bit of a boyo ten and cooled their interest. Ajax signed him not log afterwards.

I heard something mad liek that before, wasnt too sure, thansk for that.

I think the fact that Wenger thinks he does holds more merit than anything we say here!

Frannie Jeffers, Nelson Vivas and Igor Stepanovs. Thats all I'm saying. For now.

I'm an Arsenal but add Baptista to that list.

    of course!!!

Anyone who says he wouldn't will have to explain why Berbatov can. Very similar player but if anything Ibrahimovic is better.

thats exactly the statement i thought of when i seen this thread! Similar stlye player, both in mood and application, although berbatov does show slightly more leadership(at times!)(think he works very hard when playing international....and is showing alot better recently for spurs!)
Ibrahanovic probably would be good, but as with any (possible) big money move there is always risk involved. I think he would cut it though!

thanks exactly what i was thinking as well.

    Berbatov = less skillful Ibra

Of course he would. You can't say he'd flop based on how he performed up front on his own in an Inter side with a flat back eight.

2 legs in 2005 as well, his only contribution being a missed open goal in the return leg from about 3 yards out :) oh the memories ;)

Yeah, he won the league that year. And the next year. And the next year. And will probably do it this year. Did it the year beforehand with Ajax too.

    Maybe he's just a "league-player" rather than a "cup-player". ;)

Same way some managers are "cup managers" not "league managers"?

He hardly had a bad game or 'went missing' last night. The sending off was a bleedin disgrace and from then on he was gonna have a lonely game. That's not the same as him not performing in a big game. The ref ruined the match

I think he'd be much like John Carew and Schevshenko, would take at least a full year to get settled, but as long as a manager kept faith him he would deliver the goods.

Drogba was hardly anything special in his first year at Chelsea and many were ready to write him off as an expensive flop.

    so?

Ronaldo hasnt really done much at anfield yet he's one of the best players in the league!

    Absolutely ridiculous thread.
Could he make it in the Premiership ?
He is a fine player and would be a great addition to the Premiership .
Far better than alot of the donkeys masquerading as footballers in England.

As much as I love Ibra, he's a bit too lazy for the premiership

I can't believe so many people have said he would flop. Apart from last night's game and a two legged tie three years ago what else is it based on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,082 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

I dont think he would flop, but voted that he would by accident.

Saw the thread title "Would he cut it" came straight in and clicked "YES", then half a second later realised the poll was "would he flop".

    False advertising - I demand a recount!

I think he'd be decent, maybe not incredible, but still 20goals in all competitions and a fair chunk of assists. Would have him beside Torres at pool in a second.

    Option three.

    Firmly on the fence.

    It's a stupid question imo.

    Who could possibly know.

He has the talent to, for sure.

    Doesn't mean he would though.

Too mnay "talented" players have come to the EPL and not "made it".

One bad game does not a bad player make.

Ah yes but apparently there were also two games back in 2005 where he was sh1te as well so he must be awful!
