Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Newcastle in shock 5-5 draw. Keegan hails resolute defence as they only concede 2 in the 2nd half. :p

Amazing how the midweek hangover only affects Liverpool and Arsenal (Despite playing the games at home) yet Man Utd are unaffected (Despite playing in France). :p

We're playing Newcastle! Otherwise Id be VERY wary of a draw.

Boro have minged out draws over Pool before (and I picked Pool to win btw) and Brum drew at the Emirates earlier on this year.

I do think that Liverpool will have put a lot into that game against Inter, but Inter had 10 men, so I wouldn't say they are too wrecked. Also it was on Tuesday.

United didn't put a huge amount into their game, nor did Arsenal to be honest.

I expect the big three to win, I see no reason why they wouldn't. That said I'm hopeful that Arsenal will drop points, and I'm almost half expecting Boro to win knowing Liverpool.

Can't decide who I want to win in the City Everton game, but once Villa win and stay close to Liverpool I'll be happy :P Money in the bag :)

Martin Taylor sent off. Eduardo broken leg by all accounts.

Sky deciding not to show the tackle again? WTF, dont remember them doing that before.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,224 ✭✭✭✭SantryRed

Birmingham already down to ten men.

Fair play to Sky not showing the pictures of Eduardo.

Arsenal players look very shaken from this.

Sure how many times are atrocious tackles repeated all the time. They seem to love showing people getting kicked in the chest and the like normally.

Holy ****. BBC were saying it was Adebayor. It's terrible to lose Eduardo for so long but if it was Adebayor their season probably would have been over

Jesus that was horrible. I'm not sure it was even intentional, I think Gray could be right, it was just a horrible horrible accident.

    Terrible for Eduardo

yeah, I saw that too. it feels weird to say but thankfully it was only Eduardo. he's needing oxygen apparently... jesus that's bad.

Some classic Djibril Ciise play from Walcott there. Walk straight at the defender and kick it at his legs.

It's strange that they're not showing it, don't rememebr them not showing replays before. Tackle didn't look too bad from the default camera angle IMO.

In real time it didn't look that bad. Just looked a miss-timed tackle that caught Eduardo. I think it might have been the boot stuck in the ground which caused his leg not to give way to the tackle.

    1-0 Birmingham.

Great free kick, keeper probably could've done better

Almunia would've saved that had he used his other hand

    Sky footage of the tackle:

Can't see a whole lot from that angle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

Yeah, doesnt look like much. Probably a harsh sending off. Looks more accidental than anything.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

McFadden is so slow its unreal. He's got the ball in about 10 yards of space a few times, but it's like he's on pause and th eArsenal players are on FF.

One of the pics posted later in the thread (Page 2 I think) shows what looks liek the bone coming out, also makes it look like a high foot that caused the damage.

has the injury affected them or have they just been awful? hard to say I suppose seeing as it was so early...
