RDF question

    If I am Accepted into the RDF

    for How long is the Contract?
    How often to I get to practice shooting the Steyr?
    How often do I get to use live rounds?
    How about Sidearms/ Handguns?
    Can you transfer from RDF to PDF if you are over the age limit for the PDF?

    Not much point in joining if all you want to do is fire a gun?...Everyone shoots the steyr as its part of training.. If its target shooting u use live rounds.. everything else is blanks... as for hanguns id say very very rarely.. no u cant transfer from the rdf to the pdf... Its taken into consideration when u apply for the PDF.. If its cadets u apply for its adds like 2% to ur overall score but u need a written recomendation from your commanding officer to prove that you were there often and are of good character etc etc...

    Contract is for 3 years, but is not binding you may leave when you wish.

    Minimum once a year you will fire live rounds at your ARP's to qualify you to use the rifle.

    Only when on the range are they suppposed to be fired.

    You won't be trained to use a pistol until an NCO or a senior serving 3 star.
