    Carbonation-as water falls through the air it mixes with the carbon dixide in the atomsphere forming a weak carbonis acid. the carbonic acid reacts with the calcium carbonte forming a calcium bicrabonate thus wethiering the limestone. Clints and grikes are formed this way which can expand into swallow holes and than percolation and avaporation causes stalactites,stalagmites,curtains and pillars to be formed

    I don't think simpsons rule is on the honours course cos i have havent seen that since fourth year. Maybe it is, but i dont know it.
    square root of: {(x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2} ----> i think
    the radius of the circle and a point on the circle ----> haven't done the line or the circle in aaaaages.

    ye thats right aswel, but i heard its more french to say 'la santé' rather than 'votre santé'. sort of like body parts 'la gorge' rather than 'ma gorge'. i'm not 100% sure, could be wrong.

    Haha Nice!

    (took a while to realise why ya chose "cabin"!! :p)

    Ok,

    y=cos^4x-sin^4x

    evaluate dy/dx when x=7∏/12

    (in case thats not clear,by this ---> ∏ i mean pie!)

    ok i'm not writing out the whole solution cos i'm not arsed. and i hate writing maths on computers. Is the answer 1?

    I'm not sure if there is a trig formula for that but i just worked it all out with decimals, took ages and i was using a sh!tty pencil.

    EDIT: wait i just realised the better way to do it. so ill just write it up:

    ( cos^4x - sin^4x ) = (cos^2x - sin^2x)(cos^2x + sin^2x) ..........{ (cos^2x + sin^2x) = 1 }

    ( cos^4x - sin^4x ) = (cos^2x - sin^2x)

    y = (cos^2x - sin^2x)

    dy/dx = 2cosx.(-sinx) - 2sinx.cosx

    = -2cosx.sinx - 2sinx.cosx

    dy/dx = -4cosx.sinx ...........................................{ x = 7(pi)/12 }

    dy/dx = -4cos(7(pi)/12).sin(7(pi)/12)

    = -4(-0.2588)(0.9659)

    = 1

    ok its alot easier that way.
