Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Been reading the link Gillie, it is really bad, far worse than anyone would have predicted. Makes me think of all the great work that Johnny Chadda did regarding raising finances for the club. The pitch itself is a disgrace, goodness knows how it passed an FAI inspection. €130,000 needed between now and the end of August, what's going to happen next if it is found? They will still need further money to keep their head above water for the coming season ahead. (should Rovers make it that far)

Obviously you dont go to the Showgrounds because the pitch has greatly improved. Pay 15 euro into the Harps match on Saturday night and you will get to see for yourself.

That's great news man. I was just thinking about what a few managers where saying at the start of the season when their teams came down to play and they commented on it. Might have been Shels or Pats. Glad it has improved. Nice one.

Where in the name of the Almighty are they going to get €130,000 between now and then...any ideas?

So would I. What is Ronaldinho looking for a week, €200,000. I am sure we could come to a compromise.

Maybe Argos (there I said the word!) might bale rovers out as a good will gesture to the people of Sligo, after finally getting a foot hole in the town... A donation that is. ;)

quite interested in the syndicate idea my self, might look into it a bit more when i head to the match this weekend

tbh, we can help, as many bums in seats for the rest of the season, although small, would go some of the way

Seeing as I no longer moderate this forum I think it may be safe to post a comment here again without being accused of everything except murder by certain sad and pathetic individuals.

Might be there on Saturday. Im struggling a wee bit at the moment with an old knee injury but if its cleared by Saturday and nothing else happens me I will do my best to make Mooneys. Cant guarantee I'd go to the match as there may be more fun in the pub :)

They did 1 match but there was almost a riot so its back to normal again, they gave you a stamp last time though when you went out. You cant stop tradition!!! Or just start selling on the premises like bohs in a member pub. Or just allow it like cobh where you can watch the match with your pint like in holland (they water the beer down to 2% though)

he was at the game as well. Whe he phoned the first time he was at Mooney's before kick off. He'll no doubt be still shouting Muffler. I thought you were going to be at the pub as well.

    Well done boys!!!

slight change of plan, few beers in the house instead

great game though, hopefully will result in a big crowd for the cork city match and a few more euros in the club coffers

Why don't Sligo Rovers play matches during the day? Surely if they had matches during the day, it would bring in more families. And, why are all the away matches on a Friday? People can't always get the time off work (or skive off too often).

i think the one against cork might be during the day, its on a sunday anyway, think most of them are played at 3 or 4pm

I've never heard Raphael Cretaro speak before I listened to the interview on RTE online. I honestly thought he was Spanish or Portuguese. A local guy that's for sure!

hooray comp is working fine again so have own account again!!! All I can say is: 4-1 what a result. great match.

Poor Rovers beaten away at Shams. Anybody travel down to the game? From what I read Rovers dominated the first half and should have been a few goals in the clear. Penalty not given!!!

only watched on telly (tg4), boco was on the right place everytime but failed to score (again), switched channel after goal from sham rovers. Rovers need a good striker!

hopefully some one will rise from the A squad, with the current finacial situation, dont think any star signings will be made before the close of the transfer window

hope he enjoys the match mrs.t, and that sligo get the right result, need to win as many as matches as possible, hopefully push for an euro spot, if we still have a team next season, the money from european matches will hopefully bring in some much needed revenue
