Well guys, sorry this is probably a stupid question but I just want to be sure. I've got a set of alloys for my car (Peugeot 206), and I'm just after putting them on. The only thing is The centre part of the alloy is bigger than the centre of the hub (the spigot?). This makes it a bit awkward to put them on, but does it matter i.e. the alloy doesn’t necessarily have to be in contact with it? Cheers in advance.

Did you get a 'kit' with the wheels? ie, studs, rings etc. There should be a ring that sits into the centre of the wheel and usually retained by a circlip that 'lifts' the wheel away from the car's hub. It's mainly used to keep the wheels from wobbling if the hubs of the car and the wheels aren't completely smooth and flat. Aparently, they are also necessary to prevent the alloys from vibrating loose.

Yep, I think you may need what is known as a "spacer". Basically a small plastic ring that fits in the centre of the hub where the alloy wheel is mounted. Mainly used for aftermarket replica alloy wheels which do not fit properly. Any decent place that specialises in aftermarket alloy wheels will have these.

Cheers lads, found a set of rings to fit the alloys on eBay. I assume its ok to drive with the alloys on until these rings come? Should only take about five days.
