Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Internet Issue

    Hi,

I have a Dell Inspiron 1200 laptop (Windows XP), an Irish Broadband Ripwave modem & I cannot connect to the internet at all.

The laptop crashed a few days ago & I had boot from the operating system re-install CD. Laptop working fine now except for the internet problem.

When I go into the control panel -> network & internet connections -> network connections, there is nothing at all whatsoever (there used to be a "Lan or High Speed Connection" which worked for my broadband but its gone)

I have tried to set up a new connection but the lan & high speed internet connection is not an option given (and none of the other options work).

Would anyone know how solve this problem & what file I am missing?

    Any advice greatly appreciated!

Sounds like the driver for your Network Connection wasn't installed as part of the system restore. Have a peep in the Device Manager, it'll probably be listed there with a yellow ?.

You should have another Dell disk with the drivers on it, or you should be able to download from their website, easiest way to find the right driver would be to search using the tag number.

I'd go onto Support.Dell.ie and find the drivers relevant to your laptop model, stick those on a thumb drive and port them over to the lappy for an install.
