Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anybody know who brews this damn beer? The beer is of no interest in and of itself, but I just can't find the name of the brewer!

According to this website, it's Nemo Namenlos. The only link I can find though.

Aye, I found that too. "Namenlos" means "nameless", though, so I had to take it further!

    Cheers.

I think there may be 2 different Route 66 beers. The one that was available in Ireland up to a couple of years ago was brewed by Celtic Brew in Enfield, Co.Meath as far as I know.

You could e-mail them to get to the bottom of it:
    craftbrew@premierbeers.ie
It is the company that is run by Dean McGuinness who often does the beer slot on Seán Moncrieff's radio show on Newstalk of a friday.

Thanks, Carrot. I emailed the company last August, but they haven't deigned to reply.

    The beer is http://www.route66beer.com

I always find it odd that it can be so damn difficult to find out what country, even, a beer comes from.

I've emailed another dude at the company, so maybe eventually they'll give up and give me what I want to make me go away :D

Yeah, that's the one that is/was made in Ireland. Has never seen America. I remember it used to sell for some ridiculous like €2.50 a bottle, as if it was an American craftbrewer, and then when all the world beers started flooding the market it started coming out in cases like Stella Artois for just as cheap, then it disappeared.

I used to find it had quite a soapy taste. Ick.

Had a look at the packaging in Tesco yesterday. Route 66 is made in Germany.

Gemany has literally 18 squillion brewers doing contract brewing so I doubt you'll ever find out which one is making this for the brand's owners.

    HI,

Just as a matter of interest did you ever find out the answer to your question?
They still sell it and brew it here as far as I know.

What a dissapointment this beer was.
I saw it for sale, and since a) I'd never heard of it, and b) It's got an american themed name, I assumed it was an american craft beer, like the likes of Anchor or Sierra Nevada.

    Turns out, it's Piswasser.
