Brad Pitt has reportedly confirmed that Angelina Jolie is pregnant with twins.

Rumours have been rife that the couple are expecting two babies, but their publicists have repeatedly denied the claims.

However, the Daily Mail quotes a friend as saying: "Brad's been very quiet about this pregnancy so far but this was the weekend he decided to let the cat out of the bag. He's telling everybody close to him, because he is having to change his work schedule to get ready for the birth.

"They're having twins, Angelina is healthy, and he's thrilled that he's going to be a father once again."

The source claimed that the pregnancy was not planned, adding: "But they wanted more children and Brad says Angelina was very willing to have them herself."

Contrary to reports that Jolie will give birth in France, the friend said: "They want to have these children in Los Angeles or New Orleans. I don't think Brad wants to isolate himself and the family again like he did when Shiloh was born."

Actress Jessica Alba is the latest celebrity to be pregnant with twins, according to a report.

The 26-year-old and her fiancé Cash Warren announced that they were expecting their first baby last December but doctors have now discovered two heartbeats.

A friend told The National Enquirer: "Knowing that she's going to have twins has literally turned Jessica's life upside down. She and Cash have had to scrap their plans for a one-baby nursery and start all over again."

The source added that the couple were still deliberating whether to find out the sex of their babies in advance or wait until the birth, which is scheduled for June 8.

Jennifer Lopez has reportedly checked into hospital in preparation for the birth of a twin boy and girl, while Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are also rumoured to be expecting two babies.

Julia Roberts and Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross are also mums to twins.

A report is circulating that Brangelina are adding to their family with a set of twins. Various tabloids have already been reporting on baby bump sightings and now it's being reported by Bauer Griffin online that the actress is pregnant. According to the site, she's been trying to get pregnant for some time, but ran into the stumbling block of having to gain weight. Reportedly, it was at this point that she switched from the doctor who treated her for her pregnancy with Shiloh, and then was seen visiting the offices of the doctor whom Nicole Richie used during her pregnancy. I'm guessing the guy specializes in malnourished mommies.

Angelina Jolie has given birth to a girl and a boy in a French hospital, it has been announced.

The actress and her partner Brad Pitt welcomed the arrival of their twin children at the Lenval Hospital in Nice last night. The babies were born by Caesarean section.

Doctor Michel Sussmann confirmed that the girl weighed in at 2.28kg and has been named Vivienne Marcheline, while the boy weighed 2.27kg and has been called Knox Leon.

Sussmann added: "The babies are doing well. The operation went just perfectly. Angelina is in very good spirits. Brad Pitt was at her side. He was there and all was well."

Jolie checked in to the hospital at the beginning of the month. Reports last week stated that she could not wait to give birth because she was "fed up" with life at Lenval.

The Hollywood couple already have four other children. Shiloh, who was delivered in Africa two years ago, had been their only biological child, while they also have three adopted children.

Angelina Jolie has admitted to buying a knife for her adopted son Maddox.

The actress told W magazine that she wanted her six-year-old son to know the benefits and dangers of carrying a weapon.

"We take him to a special shop," she said. "We also talk about samurais and the idea about defending someone as good. We talk about everything."

Jolie added that her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, had taken her knife shopping when she was 11.
