How come some people are saying they got a letter to ring and make an appointment for Driving Test? I got a letter telling me where and when to do test? Can it be done either way?

If your name is on one of the lists given over to SGS who are the private contractor they use their own booking system. This allows you to ring and arrange one once they've contacted you to say you've been given over to them.

Otherwise if the RSA are doing your test they will send a letter with the date and time on it.

Is there any way of speeding up the length of time from when you apply for the test to when you do the test, apart from the obvious 'get the employer to write a letter for you'?
