Please take a look at the attached picture of Michael.
He is originally from Longford and is studying in Limerick.
He was in Galway last week celebrating Rag Week. He was last seen on
Tuesday night/Wednesday morning (February 19/20) between 2.00am and 2.30 outside Bar 903 on Eyre Square.

Michael is 20 years old, and is approximately 5'10'', with a medium
build. He has blue eyes and brown wavy hair. He was wearing a green/grey
khaki jacket, blue jeans and grey converse runners. He was also wearing
a beige baseball cap with New York Yankees logo on it.

Anyone with information should contact Galway Garda Station 091 538000.

If it wasn't, that means another student was missing without people realising.

From what I heard, it was a dolphin or some such mammal that was fished out yesterday, NOT a person. As usual, this is open to correction.

Has there been any word on Michael Hughes?

I'm surprised about the lack of media attention about this boy missing. i've seen posters around Galway alright, although the pictures on them are poor, but haven't seen anything on the news which I find bizarre.

Is this true :(? Somebody rang me today because she heard something! I haven't seen anything at all in the news!

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,584 ✭✭✭TouchingVirus

Like you, I've only heard it through the grapevine, but we all know what happened the last time news like this arose =\

I guess time will tell, but it's sad stuff all the same :(

Heard his body was found today.....I knew the lad......its very sad for all involved. My thoughts and prayers are with all.

The one thing about this though is at least his family can bury their loved one. Some families spend the rest of their lives wondering where their missing loved one is....God be with them.
