Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Footballer Fights

Was just reading the news about John Terry and Henk ten Cate apparantly getting into a bit of a bust up and it gave me an idea....

Out of all the footballers in the world, who would be:
A)- The Best in a fight
B)- The worst in a fight
C)- Which 2 players would you like to see fight the most?
D)- Which player would be the best fighter of all time?

Players must be actively playing now for the first 3 categories

    for me I must say:

A)- Sol Cambell. The man is insane and hes a big guy as well. he just seems like he would have no limits.

B)- Luis Garcia. Diminutive and small and falls down in a strong breeze. easy pickin's

C)- Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo. 2 very different styles. 1 is short and stocky and a head the ball scouser while the other has a good reach and lightning fast legs.

D)- Eric Cantona. Obvious choice really. We all know what he can do.

Keep it light hearted please :)

Ben Thatcher, Michael Brown, Michael Ball free for all, throw Eboue in as it's getting heated.

    A) Rooney used to box and he has the build for it

    B) I dunno, lets just say Theo Walcott

    C) Vinnie Jones vs Stig Tofting with Roy Keane as referee

    D) Vinnie Jones or Stig Tofting or Duncan Ferguson

Eboue would go down the second someone made contact with him, or even if they didnt he'd go down anyway.

I'd say the current best would be Gattuso.

Worst would be someone like Owen or anyone like him really.

Fight I'd like to see: Lua Lua Vs Nani

It'd be like Yoda fighting or something.

    Greatest of all time: Chopper!

    A) Roy Keane
    B) Robert Pires
    C) Roy Keane and Ashley Cole - not for a contest. For sheer entertainment
    D) Roy Keane

    'Nuff said

    A) Rio Ferdinand, he's like such a hard ass.

    B) Stuart Downing

    C) Materazzi vs Lugano

    D) Keane.

I think Lauren Robert would be one of the softest around.

Jonathan Woodgate is a bit of a nutter, but the fight I would love to see is Christiano Ronaldo versus Vidic, just because Vidic looks like an eastern european gangster who would rip Ronaldos spleen out and eat it with a nice Chianti:D

Get Gallas wound up like he was at the weekend and let him fight some one. Or Jan Koller v Aaron Lennon. That would be interesting.

almost feel perverted saying it, but i'd love to see Carragher and Gerrard in a fight to see who'd win :)

    :)

Campbell wouldn't mentally be up for it.
Collymore would win any fight along as the opponent was female. As would Paul Gascoigne.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,178 ✭✭✭beer enigma

    A)- Ron 'Chopper' Harris
    B)- Glenn Hoddle
C)- Peter Crouch & Dennis Wise - for the laugh
    D)- Ron 'Chopper' Harris

    B) Robben without a shadow of a doubt!
    C) Jan Kollar V Joey Barton - Size and power V sneaky little toerag.
    D) Winner of Dunc V Keane V Jones V Chopper V Pearse - Fatal 5way match!

A)- The Best in a fight

I think Vidic just because you can't knock him down. I remember one match where he was late tackled really badly, and the guy who did it went off injuried. Hilarious stuff. I think he'd be like Homer Simpson when he's a boxer, you could just keep punching but he wouldn't fall down. That said, the one person I wouldn't want to meet in a fight would be Rooney, who was a boxer until age 13 and had to give it up for football.

B)- The worst in a fight

    I'm going with Luis Garcia

C)- Which 2 players would you like to see fight the most?

    Keane and Vieira

D)- Which player would be the best fighter of all time?

    not sure

    Ha love that too.

You could also it was due to that injury that Keane was unable to play for Ireland and as such we didn't qualify.

A: Mascherano looks like a right scumbag, but I reckon Gerrard would take him
    B: Chris Eagles......definitely, Chris Eagles
C: Gerrard -v- Carragher would be good, but I'd like to see Keano bate the shyte outta Stevie G
    D: Keano

For those not in the know.....Chris Eagles:

Diogo only threw one at the start, the rest were just parries! Fabiono's were the girliest, most full circled attempts at slaps i've seen since primary school.

The first was a parry the rest were pathetic attempts at punches, just like EVERY one Fabiano threw. they should both be embarrassed. The fact that Fabiano stumbled twice after being hit too showed he has a tremendous chin! He shoudl go into boxing!

Fight I'd like to see: Lua Lua Vs Nani

That already happened, its called Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, im sure you can pick it up in HMV or somewhere.

    a) Rooney: stocky, quick, scouce.
    b) Theo Walcott: He looks like hes about to cry all the time.
    c) Adriano vs Julio Baptista: Big Brazilian Brawl.
    d) John Fashanu... Come on.... He presented Gladiators!

lol, I'm just imagining fabiano fighting in a ring against a real boxer. I know I know, anyone against a proper boxer would get raped but, just the visual of him throwing his shapes in Madison Square Garden is priceless.

A)- The Best in a fight

I'm going with Graham Stack after this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXxChycLh3k

B)- The worst in a fight

    Robbie Savage:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbCuYuYlozA

C)- Which 2 players would you like to see fight the most?

    Roy Keane and Alan Shearer

D)- Which player would be the best fighter of all time?

Hard to say but I wouldn't want to cross the Leeds duo of Giles and Bremner from what I've learned about them, nor would I have liked to meet Keane or Cantona at their angriest moment.

    A. Yaya Toure
    B. Adriano
    C. Vieira vs Keane (Vieira would actually bury him into the ground)
    D. Floyd Mayweather (he played 'soccer' as a kid!! =P)

How exactly have u come to that conclusion?!!! Keane has all the agro while Vieira is more passive when compared to Keane, and its not like Pat is like PBF Mayweather who has the skills to deal with that, he'd probably just fold mentally and give up like he did here:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qV-QKpRNtU

Plus to the best of my knowledge Keane used to be a useful amateur boxer in his early teens. Plus Vieira looked like a sissy when he handballed in Anfield last week makin him lose!! :D:D
