I need some advice, I'm looking to start an evening course in the Dublin area. I want to start from the basic design, creative programmes that use images and graphics, I dont know whether I should do a photoshop course as they appear to be very expensive. I am hoping my job will pay for it as at the moment I work with Jpegs but only in word/excel. I dont know exactly what desktop publishing involves. I would like to persue this and become more creative but I would like to start some course initially but everytime I search the web I just get basic computer classes.
bit clueless so any info to point me in the right direction would be a great help, all new to me!

Sounds like Photoshop is what you want.

A colleague of mine works with it all the time and honestly i'm blown away at some of the stuff she comes out with. I have a copy on my laptop and have "tried" to use it a couple of times but the program itself is massive with so many features, I get lost, a course would be definite recommendation.

FAS use to run a photoshop course a few years ago, you should try them. You might also still qualify for the 75% funding.

I think you'd want to get a better idea of what you want to do first.

Adobe Illustrator is the companion product of Adobe Photoshop. Photoshop is primarily geared toward digital photo manipulation and photorealistic styles of computer illustration, while Illustrator provides superior results in the typesetting and logographic areas of design.
