Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hey folks, i hope someone can help, a work colleague has a new laptop, running vista. It has all of a sudden stopped booting up with a "windows explorer has stopped working message" over a black screen. I thought maybe i could get into safe mode and fiddle around or do a system restore but it's the same story there as well! any idea what the problem is? i did a scout around google and it seems to be a common problem but couldn't see a solution! can anybody help?

    Cheers :)

Unless you can find something more specific like a file that's at fault, your quickest option is a repair install.

She doesn't have too good English i'm afraid so getting specifics from her (what she has installed etc.) could be a problem! i'll ask her for the recovery disc, it's a new lappy so she should still have it (hopefully, for her sake!) :)

She told me she doesn't have a recovery disc.... would i be able to use a vista installation disc? (provided it's the right version)

Actually when you boot from the dvd you should have repair options. These allow you access to the command prompt, system restore, memeory diagnostics and access to the complete pc backup which allows you to re-imagwe your drive from backup DVDs or hard drive you created using the windows Vista backup application.
