Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,
Don't know where i should post this as i'm unsure of what the problem is. Apologies if it's in the wrong place. mods move if necessary. cheers

Compaq Presario V6000 Laptop. Vista Premium installed.
I've just installed a Lexmark x1190 all in 1 printer. latest drivers from the lexmark site.

All work properaly except when i change to another USB port. The Lapptop\Vista doesn't see that the printer is installed and goes about installing the driver again.

    WEIRD

Anyone know what's going on and how do i solve this?

    K

hopefuly it only does it once per usb port

3G cards do the same find new hardware dance on XP if that's any consolation

or just use the same usb port each time

Right i've installed it each time for each USB port. No problem they all work. But now i've got the same printer set up 3 times. I have to change the default printer if i plug into a different USB port> This can't be normal. What if somebody else is using this laptop and plugs it into a different port. They are going to calling be telling me the printer isn't working!!!

It has happened to me before on xp with different hardware. Different usb port = new hardware found. A bit of a pain but a known problem in windows. Stick to the same port if possible.
