Announced this morning to further complicate things....

Not sure of the exact numbers but...

If you buy a car between Jan '08 and July '08 that's road tax would be cheaper based on July's new Co2 systems....when you go to tax your car in Jan of next year you will get to tax it at the cheaper rate of the new tax system. Introduced as a bonus for those who have bought greener cars already this year.

    * * * This does not have any affect on VRT and if your tax WOULD be going up if u had of held off till july, you will be paying the old system of tax

EG: Buy a New Mazda 6 diesel today, years tax €360, next jan when u tax it will be €120

You buy a new Mazda CX-7 today, your years road tax will be €817, when you go to tax in jan it will still be €817.

Note. These numbers are very very rough!!!!
