Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Minors and Contracts

can anybody explain to me what the situation is with minors and contracts. I know that generally minors can only contract for necessities. Let us say, hypothetically, a minor sold something that was a gift from a parent.

The sale is a contract so is that contract void because they are a minor?

On the other hand would the item be even theirs to sell? Would the parents maintain some rights over what was gifted after it was given? I am thinking not but if someone could clarify i would be grateful.

A gift is a gift, you (generally) retain no rights.

However, a six year old selling his school books to his friend would be without full consent, as the seller is a minor.
