    Hi,

I'm wondering what the best option is for travel insurance for someone who is backpacking through South East Asia, Aus/NZ and Canada/USA for 5 months this year. Does anyone have any recommendations?

    Thanks!!

Usit seem to have some fairly reasonable offers. Call into 1 of their shops (or probably online aswell) and you should be able to get a look at what they have

    hi there
i put a post up about travel insurance a last week - if you want to check it out (it'll only be a few posts back) i put down the information on what i found.

Went for coverworks in the end they have an excess waiver option (for a small premium...well it was small for 4mts) which means you don't have to pay the 1st whatever amount in given situations...

Probably a stupid question but does travel insurance also cover you for medical stuff or do you need separate medical insurance?

travel insurance does indeed cover you for medical stuff. if you have a look at the policy wording, it will tell you exactly what it covers, and if you have to pay excess. i.e., pay the first €100 yourself and then the insurance company covers the rest
