T4 Alexa 'vomits on Arctic Monkey lover'
    Friday, February 29 2008, 11:31 GMT

    By Alex Fletcher, Entertainment Reporter

T4 presenter Alexa Chung threw up on her boyfriend Arctic Monkeys singer Alex Turner at the NME awards.

According to The Mirror, Chung vomited onto the frontman's trainers after sharing a passionate kiss with him.

A source said: "Alex and Alexa were having a cheeky snog by the lifts shortly before he was due to go on stage.

"It was all getting pretty heated when all of a sudden Alexa began to heave - and was suddenly violently sick. After filming her show for T4 all day it appears she'd developed a severe bout of food poisoning.

"Alex was a knight in shining armour though. He insisted on accompanying her to the toilets and holding her hair back as she hurled into the loo. It wasn't the most romantic of occasions but Alexa looked extremely grateful for his gentle TLC."

Turner arrived late onto the stage to pick up his group's award for Best British Band, with host James Corden telling the audience that the rocker was busy holding back Chung's hair in the toilets.

Arctic Monkeys also picked up gongs for Best Track and Best Video at the ceremony.

    My Chemical Romance? Jesus...

The pre-Britpop NME writers would be turning in their graves... if they were dead.

My Chemical Romance were nominated in both the Best Band and Worst Band categories.

Nailz, the reason why none of your heroes were there is because it's not 1991 anymore. But I also wish music was as good as back then.

And your point on My Chemical Romance being??? I realised that, all I'm saying is that they shouldn't be in the best band category and they should be joint winner with the other Emo's in the worst band category... Not hard to understand mate, it's late you should get some rest. I completely agree with you on "But I also wish music was as good as back then" thing. For that sentence I could make you my best friend. ;) Oh wait, "Step On" just went on on my iPod Stereo, Rave On Dudess... Rave On..... :p

    EDIT: It's "God's Cop" now...

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, calm the fukk down will you?! I was only pointing out in general that they were in two polar opposite categories - not a word of it was aimed in your direction. Just an observation on the general inconsistent fukkwittery of the NME. Wow, you've a bit of a knack for reading into things...

I love the way the NME views itself as all "street cred" yet still sticks a bint and sh1te artist like Rihanna, a bint and sh1te artist like Kylie, and a singer who, despite her protesting otherwise, is simply another Avril Lavigne (Hayley Williams) into its Sexiest Female category.
Of course MCR should be shot, as should the editorial staff of NME for even considering to put them in Best Band nominations.
As for Pete Doherty being nominated as Hero of the Year in the first place: what a bunch of kunts. I thought such an accolade would require talent, and at least dignity. But he's "cool" man...
And these guys' "love" for Joy Division - the surviving members of Joy Division probably find them utterly repugnant. Ponces.

Indeed. That era for indie pisses all over anything since (personally I think Britpop did a huge amount of damage). Were you "there"? I'm guessing, considering you refer to Kylie as "old", you weren't. Ya missed out, kid... :)

It's quite sickening indeed, they think they are `chillin' with da young hip dudes`. But as a guy I think Kylie is quite a bit hot for her age (39/40), but as a `lady` you probably wouldn't understand... :D (I shouldn't have said that, should I?)

True as be-damned!!! (BTW, don't referr to them as 'MCR', thats reserved for Manchester!)

I agree once again, though I do like Joy Division, I has NME's taught of being `Alternative`... Wànkers!

Actually the first thing I seen was the post date and I said "know what this is!" :D Aw you have great taste missy! Were you at the concert itself?

    Sorry for yellin'. :o

Oh I understand perfectly. Kylie's a sexy lady, but apart from the odd storming song (e.g. Can't Get You Out of My Head) she's fairly sh1t. Actually there's a mash-up of that song and Blue Monday - Can't Get Blue Out of My Head - and it's pretty good. Works well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWt2aE0sOgQ
I agree once again, though I do like Joy Division
Yeah I absolutely adore them. Used to be a New Order first, Joy Division second person, but now I'm the reverse (maybe I've become more gloomy...? ;)) Love them both though.
But I hate the way a lot of the current generic, heavily marketed crop claim to be emulating Joy Division. Imagine how much of a joke Ian Curtis would consider them to be...
    Cheeky girl!!! Kid?!! Bah!
Yeah sorry :). I know how lonely it can be to be a fan of a music scene from quite a while back. When I was 15 (1993) I was obsessed with New Order and nobody my age had a notion what I was on about!

You met Shaun Ryder?! Cool. No, was working evenings that time but a couple of mates did so I met them afterwards in Thomas Read's. The night was fantastic. Yeah, I'm a total Manchesterophile too. Wish I could have been in university there in the late 80s... Instead, I was in university in Cork in the mid/late 90s. Bummer :(

Yeah I'm more of a nutural, but despite the fact Sumner's a United supporter I think he's a Cùnt! But I'm still nutural. :)

Looking at the film `24 Hour Party People`he seems to have a no nonsence arie about him, so going by that Curtis would bloody hate them! :p

    Yeah but it was pre Celtic-Tiger Ireland... nobody had a clue what anybody was on about!! :D But nowadays it's particularly difficult to find fans of MaDchester, almost impossible infact! But I always wanted one of those T-Shirts with the MADCHESTER logo on it like this;

Yeah I say you were quite `Bummed`, excuse the awful pun. :p Yeah I met Shaun, he seemed nice, :D it probably had something to do with him being off drugs. Bought him a pint, shoke his hand and said thanks (I know, it was too cheesey). We had a nice chat, we were on about football and then we talked about the music. Something that will live on in my memory...

He comes across as quite narky all right. But I'd say he's mellowed with age. Seemed like a real moody bastard in the 80s. Was he at Tony Wilson's funeral? Think there was some MAJOR animosity between those two. Can't really blame Sumner though, Wilson ****ked him over rightly. Although the other NO members seemed capable of forgiving and forgetting. Meh, who knows...
I was arguing recently with my brother about which Manchester team was the more "rock". I reckoned City, he's a die-hard Man U fan so naturally he said I was talking bollocks. City fans - Curtis, Marr, Oasis (bleh); Man U fans - Sumner, Ryder, Mani, Brown?, Mick Hucknall... actually scratch that last one ;). Meh, probably half and half. Presume Ian Curtis was also a supporter of Macclesfield Town.
Looking at the film `24 Hour Party People`he seems to have a no nonsence arie about him, so going by that Curtis would bloody hate them! :p
A bunch of "fooking koonts" I'd say would be his consensus. Got the book 24 Hour Party People by Tony Wilson (R.I.P) recently. A great read.
Yeah I say you were quite `Bummed`, excuse the awful pun
    Actually I likes! :D

Brilliant. We were trying to find the man too but it just didn't happen for us. He was down in the basement wasn't he? Actually we reckoned it was just a rumour that the band were in Thomas Read's. Did you meet him at the actual gig itself? How did you meet him?

Weird. My dad's in the other room on the phone to his mates in Manchester organising a trip over there next weekend to see United. Everyone in my family has a real affection for that city (apart from my mum who only likes opera). My dad - footie, Coronation Street and, more morbidly, a huge fascination with the Moors Murders. My brothers - footie, music (they were old enough to go to raves in the early 90s - ok, not in Manchester, in Cork, but... better than nothing!) Me - the music mostly and the football a little bit. And I hate soaps in general but Corrie is far and away the best of a bad lot. Years ago it was actually really good.

As a great man once sang: "Manchester - so much to answer for".

I don't know if he was at Wilson's funeral, but in the bonus interviews on `24 Hour Party People` Sumner showed great effection for Wilson, he thanked him for taking the band under his wing after Curtis died... but then he got cheeky and added, "Ton' made us alot of money, but it wasn't like we got to see any of it..." :p *cough*STAB*cough* But I imagine he was hard to work with, I always had a feeling Hook left because of him, and I like Hook despite he's a City supporter. I can't imagine Morris or his wife to be bad characters.

City?!? Boo!! How dare you?! ;) Hook (the City bàstard!) claimed Curtis was a City supporter, but never said he had anything to do with Macclesfield. All the Roses are (Brown, Squire, Mani, Reni), Squire once said he missed Brown because he'd nobody to go to the games with. The Ryder boys, Bez, Davis, Day & Gaz Whelan are all United lads aswell. Simply Red my not be Madchester but they're still Red boys!! :D Hingley and Lambert of Inspirle Carpets were reds too. Tim Booth of James aswell, oh Jesus, there is a good bit of 'em! :) Gerald Simpson (A Guy Called Gerald) aswell. But I don't know about 808 State... :p

A bunch of "fooking koonts" I'd say would be his consensus. Got the book 24 Hour Party People by Tony Wilson (R.I.P) recently. A great read.
Really? I'm not a `Book` type guy, but I'll give it a go. Cheers!

No Way!! You couldn't! It was so awful! And terribly vague! Thanks anyway...

Brilliant. We were trying to find the man too but it just didn't happen for us. He was down in the basement wasn't he? Actually we reckoned it was just a rumour that the band were in Thomas Read's. Did you meet him at the actual gig itself? How did you meet him?
Yes he was down in the basement, table beside his was free, hopped in to it as if my life depended on it! He actually commented on me saying, "I don't want ya too have a heart attack." I was ready to say "You came close to a few of those didn't you!?" But I would have been regreting it if I did! :o

Weird. My dad's in the other room on the phone to his mates in Manchester organising a trip over there next weekend to see United. Everyone in my family has a real affection for that city (apart from my mum who only likes opera).
Jesus, how often did we have to organise trips to see United, 7 times this year... so far! ;) But it is my favourite city, I always have taughts of living and working in Manchester, having a season ticket to see United going to the G-Mex & MEN to see the lads every year... oh I love Manchester!

Me - Footie, Music, City, China Town (I know, don't ask), The Quays (a truely beautiful part!), Coronation Street (sorry, I have to hear those accents! :o), Old Trafford, G-Mex, the Metrolink and Trafford Centre (class!)... I decided I'm going to live in Manchester! :D Your dad is fascinated with the Moors Murders, wow! How did he feel about Hindley's release?? It wasn't that it lasted long, she died shortly after! :D

It's not like he's fascinated with serial killings in general, just that particular one! I suppose because of where it happened - probably his fave city too. He became a United supporter in the 50s when he was only a small fella and was deeply affected by Munich. After that he just developed an interest in anything to do with Manchester - except the music. He doesn't have a clue about that (I'm not sure I'd want him throwing the Buzzcocks on the stereo every so often anyway...)

It would have been ace to move over there 15/20 years ago, but it just wouldn't be the same now... :(

Dammit, wish we'd gone down to the basement in Thomas Read's...

Your father sounds like he has good taste (esp. United!). I soppose it would be odd for my dad too to be havin' the Madchester tunes on in the kitchen and freaky dancin' to it and Raving on... at his age it seems very very odd to imagine it. I couldn't think of a life for me without living in Cavan, probably the same for you (without the Cavan part ofcourse). It would be grand to move over there now if your home life is accomplished, but living during the Madchester/baggy years would have been mad craic, but drugs was that era's instument, and that's one thing I would never want to get involved in.

I bet looking back on it you are bummed not to follow the rumors and go downstairs! :(

EDIT: Sorry again! I swear that time! No pun intended! :o
