Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Any fans?

Hosted by James Richardson and featuring regulars Barry Glendenning, Kevin McCarra and Paul Doyle in the pod plus Sid Lowe from Spain and Raphael Honigstein in Germany. Its a twice weekly natter of 30-40 mins about the game and its movers and shakers.

    Latest mp3 download is here

Think it was mentioned in a couple of threads before, but it does deserve to be brought to all football fans' attention.

Its a really great show, listen to it compulsively every week. Really great mix of personalities on the pod; James Richardson is, of course, superb as the quick, witty host. The back up pundits are great as well though. Glendenning is a bit of a cult hero at this stage and good for a laugh, while Kevin McCarra is the more serious journalist. The weekly update from La Liga with Sid Lowe is always interesting as well.

But really, Richardson is just stunning. The quick one-liners he can pull off at will are brilliant.

Seriously, for anyone who hasnt subscribed to this on iTunes, do so now.

The Guardian do a great footballer newsletter delivered by e-mail Mon-Fri at around 5 in the evening. It's called the fiver and it's hilarious!!!

Ya, its pretty good as well. I think Glendenning and Ingle are the usual writers on it.

I'm also a fan of the 'work for idle thumbs' section on the Guardian Football website. Great weekly youtube section and the fan photoshop galleries are funny as well

Only discovered it lately and have to say love it although Glendenning can be slightly irritating at times. Loved the Africa nations cover with Paul Doyle. Worth the listen for James Richardson, brilliant.

Smashing podcast, a staple of my podcasts (anyone else use heir iPod primarily for podcasts) Richardson should be on TV more, could replace any number of those dull chappies Sky get to host Your On Sky Sports.

Also worth checking out is the Times football podcast, hosted by Gabriel Marcotti and Guillem Balague. Similar setup to the Guardian's and also twice weekly.

I would also recommend the BBC's Sportsweek. This usually covers a variety of sports (although if its been a football busy week, the show will be mostly football) It's main advantage is that it gets some great studio guest and interviews, and the football is always at the start. Football segment usually lass about 20 mins.

If all of the above is not enough for you, also check out BBC's 5 Live 606 football phone in. This airs a number of times of a week (sometimes up to 3) straight after a set of fixtures (Premier League+Championship, Champions League, and International) Its a very well edited podcast, and usually lasts an hour. Its purely football fans phoning in and either venting or biggin their team up. Similar to the boards '[insert your team here] Transfer/Rumour Discussion 2007/2008'

Slightly off topic, but if theirs any American sports fans, subscribe to the Pardon The Interruption 'PTI' podcast. Its the audio recording of the ESPN show, but its a great format.
