why are you getting a tattoo?

hahahaha thats classic, how did you link it like that? sweet as a moose! And yeah, to the OP, seriously, you shouldn't ask other people for ideas regarding something your going to be stuck with forever. I know your looking for ideas, but your already on the internet, so get some ideas then go talk to your artist about it. It's your life, skin and body, so be 100% sure you really want one and it's not just a fashion or trend thing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 395 ✭✭Shimei

    is maith liom gneas.

might i be as bold to suggest asking on an irish board than a body modification board,

you wont be about to get

"fake it till you make it" exactly because of the way the irish language works

    itll be SOMETHING like

"déan bréagach as" which is literly "make it fake"

fake it till you make it will not translate well at all, uhm im trying to think of a reasonable translation, nothing, il think about it, but yeah try the irish board

    bréag sé é go/go dtí a déanamh tú é

    séitéir sé é go/go dtí a déanamh tú é

    falsaigh é go/go dtí a déanamh tú é

    ...
not sure which would work best but i have a feelin the first one with go dtí a...was never fantastic at english to irish...

yeah, defo try ask the irish forum, i can't think of any way to say it that has any sort of ring to it.

I suggest getting a japanese art tattoo. Like samurais, kois or geishas.

Somehow, I don't think the OP is coming back :(

Is this what we've become ;)

But if they do decide to come back they have been given good advice. It's for life, so take the necessary time to get it right, for you!

Yeah, maybe irish isnt 2 gud a choice, i luv the language but could never grasp it at school. I dont want to offend anyone either in case its wrong, i have an unusual surname and i know how vex'd i get when people cal me strange things  i really want the phrase ink'd but im not sure how to have it done, was think'n- irish, on the back of my neck at the neckline, forming lines shaped in a triangle? any ideas? ive a star on my neck also by the way

Meh, I don't have any tattoo's, but I reckon if you're going to go for one, you should have a big long think about it, and not go by suggestions of other people.. Otherwise you'll end up with something meaningless..

random suggestion. you dont know if they dig asian culture or media. I myself have yellow fever and wanna live in tokyo for a bit, marry an asian bird, the usual. but you dont know anything about this person.

    get a koi!
everyone here will think your ****in awesome if you get a koi!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,320 ✭✭✭Q_Ball

I have a raido with a swirl design behind it that I'm trying to turn into a phoenix (which I think fits well with what I'm trying to say with it). Unfortunately the swirl is a little bigger than i initially wanted (or i need more muscles!!!) so my advice is that if what you are getting done is in parts just be clear about proportions! Especially since its your first one and you dont know how sore its going to be for you.

I like that you've only managed to express input on this website 25 times in the last 2 years and I'm going to imagine that most of that is uninformative, sarcastic and generally negative.

Has anyone ever heard that if a girl gets a tattoo on her back, that it may prevent them from every getting the epidural anaesthetic in the future, for example during childbirth??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 383 ✭✭DILLIGAF

wow, I don't think so! In fact I'd have to dispute that completely given what a tattoo really is and what such and anesthetic's purpose is! I guess if it were fresh it might be a bad idea, but if your talking about a healed tattoo then I see no reason why it could not be applied.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18 Hawkeye4real

Thanks, Dilligaf. I haven't been able to get any evidence to either confirm or dispute it. Just trying to cover all bases beforehand!

Think it's one of those urban legend rumours that you hear to be honest.
