You presume correct. Wind gone into the NW with precip heading for now northwards.
Wont be long untill it starts to move back eastwards with the low level circulation.I feel rain will last for awhile yet.

    15.2mm now and increasing somewhat.
    Rain rate back upto 20mm/hr
    Now 26.4mm/hr

17mm in 3 hours snowbie? Or how much would you say is from this? Most I'd imagine?

Lol at the forecast on RTÉ tonight-no mention of thunder and it was to die out.
I'd guess that downpour is giving some spot flooding.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,033 ✭✭✭Snowbie

    At 2025 i had 1.8mm
    Now at 2240 i have 17.8mm

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,246 ✭✭✭rc28

Still lashing down here but I can actually see bits of slush/sleet mixed in with the rain falling on the velux. Its 6c but I'm almost certain its not hail. The garden is beginning to flood.

It seems to have stalled. Turned into a good downpour could be another hour or 2.
    Still dry here!

Kilkenny has reported 7.5mm in an hour.
I don't know how I and mothman are escaping only for the fact that the whole thing has stalled.
It's bound to get here eventually :( It's like a great big army knocking at the gates of the castle :(

Have I made it clear enough I don't want this rain? I really really dont!

Looking at the radar, this seems to be quite local enough - though intense. Still sleet there now and temps dropping slowly. 3.3c now.

Thats probably soft hail mixed with the rain Danno.
Dewpoints are way too high for sleet even in a downpour.
It's easy to confuse the two

    Im under that somewhere, still.

    24.6mm
    5.4c

Oh I expect to be woken up in a few hours by that rain crashing down snowbie.
It's unavoidable looking at the radar.
Theres just as wide a splodge of bright echoes to the west of here and running a long way south , that no matter what way it pivots,it has to hit here eventually unfortunately...

Still bone dry at the moment and the breeze is still a very light easterly.

Yep BB, will inevitably arrive in the next hour or so over you.
It has stalled and pivoted over me and looks like another couple of hours to come too.

    Wind NW 10-15mph
    5.3c
    25.7mm

    That is some downpour.
I got a little more, up to 2.3mm

The cold front did come though. Temp fell from above 8c to nearly 5C fairly quickly.

Dublin AP above 6mm per hour for past 3 hours.
Kilkenny 7.5 and then 5.8mm during 2 hours.

Heavy rain. 22mm/hr 3.6mm and counting
It'll be interesting if if there'll be the same intensity here.

Forgot to mention that the wind shifted from SSE to north with the cold front.

31.5mm of rain here since 6pm yesterday. Although could have been more as I appear to have had some sort of bucket malfunction around 11pm.

Had one flash of lightning and thunder overhead around 9.15pm.

Clear sky here, temp of 3.1c. Mountains are totally covered in snow, down to around 500M. I'd say Lug must have more than 20 days of lying snow this month....

    Dublin AP 35mm
