    What does old matter?
Does music have to new to be considered good?
So that means Beethoven is just a waste of airwaves??

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
There are no worse bands than these two:
    Hard-Fi
    Good Charlotte

    Portishead are not rock

Radiohead, i would not consider rock. And would certainly not consider overrated or awful. Not by a long shot.

Appalled I am appalled! - seeing your post prompted me to fire up thier debut album - 11 classic tracks. All killer no filler.

Dunno about their debut. I bought 12 Dreams a while back and was let down. Way too much hype about that album imho.

12 Dream is brilliant - how can one not thrill to the tumble of sonic brilliance from start to finish? No? Oh well.

The friggin Eagles. Man the Eagles suck with that one song of theirs. Does my feckin head in. And the Black Crowes. Why are those ****ers famous?
Ditto on any of those hard rock bands with the shrieking female lead singer thing, just bloody go the hell away.
And Primus. Who in the hell decided that Primus were worth listening to.
Actually Primus are a representative of all that skater punk / rock nonsense from which so few bands emerge with any respect.

And who in the hell ever said that Led Zeppelin, the Who, Pink Floyd, the Stones and the Doors are over rated can eat my ass for dinner. Seriously, that is the worst thing I have ever read on the internets. They arent over-rated, you just dont know anything about music.

In my opinion they are overrated. Not a chance of me even downloading one of their albums. I understand the nostalgia people have towards these bands but to me the style of music is b*llox and it bores me.

Not a rock band as such but a big shout out to Celebrity Big Brother Preston and his Ordinary Boys.
Very ****ing ordinary they are indeed!

It isnt nostalgia Xavi, I wasn't around in the 60s and 70s. Its just, for me, the zenith of rock music reached by a small few bands happened in that era, and all we have now are people with less talent or no talent writing sanitized watered down pro-tunes versions of the original great explosion of rock that came from these bands, trying to recapture the awe-inspiring awesomeness of these bands, but failing miserably and instead coming up with a name starting with "the", three chords, a crap solo, a crap drummer and no bassist.

In stain'd defense, I think they did a good song. Once.

One thing I am noticing with this thread... a trend, which applies to me, too...

Everyone is saying the generation of rock AFTER theirs seems to be ****.

Just an observation. Its the same for me, I hate sum41/linkin park/papa roach etc but I grew up with slayer, metallica, iron maiden etc.

P.s I wont defend Metallica's later works, so call them pants if you like :D
