Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just on FF there that he's jacking in at the end of the season.

 I gave him another 5 years tbh. Who'ds thunk it.

Seriously though if he'd retired after Utd's treble in 99 at what? 33 , he'd have had a great career, but here he is 9 years later. Legend. 42 next month.

I was thinking about him only a few days ago - could'nt recall where he was. Legend and he is only a year younger than me. So I feel very unfit!

    Mike.

Wow. Can't believe he's retiring (well in fairness I can, but come on it's Teddy!).

    Absolute legend.

42 is unreal, up there with the likes of Maldini and Cafu for longjevity but amazing for a striker.

Great player, and as the song goes... He came to Man United and he won the lot!

Didn't do much for Colchester since he joined them.

Were you expecting them to be in the CL by now?:)

He scored a few goals. Pretty much all that could have been asked of him. He's not a regualr starter is he?

I do love the story about him walking down London, and it was 98, and some guys said, 'Still haven't won anything yet?'. Needless to say, next year, he went down the same road :)

People forget that in the CL final, he scored the first goal, and got the flick on for Ole for the second. Absolute legend of a player.

No I didn't expect them to do as well as they did last season and it shows. Being a supporter of another Championship team from East Anglia we keep tabs on the other teams in the region and Colchester are one of them.

Cracking player, fantastic achievement to still be playing top flight football at 42. When he was announcing his retirement he also added: "I think it's a good time to announce my retirement from international football as well!" I wonder will Capello try talk him round! :)

    Well what's your name!

International retirement, hilarious, but considering how England have played in the last while, he wouldn't be the worst sub in the world :P

He's going to be talking about it on Kris Kamaras show in the morning. I think Robbie Keane will be on it as well.

There was the story of him getting a blower from some leggy model while he was ripping it around the country roads of Surrey in his Lambo.

Also, there was the dentit's chair incident.

And wasn't Danielle Lloyd 18 years his junior, and only a few years older than his son.

Indeed, Legend. A proper footballer's footballer.
