They were a good laugh, especially the third one, the instructor was like something out of the Young Ones or Bottom with Rik Mayall!

Dude, how come you removed the funniest one?

Here it is, it's class; BA 80's one.

I put it back, throught it might be a bit dated.

I don't find Scottish NCOs particularly funny, either would you if you had ever experienced them at full decibal. ;)

    Even worse with pips.

You mean as an LT getting bollocked by the SGT? Been there...

    Annecdote time:

Being issued kit for our little Iraq jaunt....

    "What's this?"
    "It's your bayonet, sir"
"What do I want a bayonet for?"
    "..."
"Look. From my position, I can shoot 120mm, .50 cal, 7.62mm MG, a 5.56mm MG, my rifle, and a 9mm pistol. If it comes down to the bayonet, I'm giving up and going home"

    I didn't take it.

Probably should have taped it to the end of my gun tube.

    NTM

The bayonet was an integral part in the Scots guards victory on Tumbledown, 2 Paras at Darwin and Goose Green as well as in some fighting in Afghanistan.

Not forgetting 1 Gloster in the Korean war.

There was also a bayonet charge in Iraq by the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.

Bayonet charges are usually won or lost before the two sides make contact, they have a huge psychological effect.

Then again, so does a tank.
