Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I just got a new Dell desktop - after much effort I finally managed to delete McAfee and I have replaced it with free programs. However, Windows still says in Security centre that McAfee virus scan and McAfee firewall are still installed

is this a problem and how do I remove them?

I regard McAfee as malware. I have had similar experiences with previous version of Windows from 98 onwards. They even used to have an application on their site above and beyond their standard uninstaller for removing it which they probably were forced to supply.

would you not recomend McAfee security centre then??

i had awful problems with windows freezing and crashing and poor performance until i cleaned McAfee from my pc, it doesn't seem to like vista at all.

it used to freeze my pc when it was checking for updates and when performing a scan, totally un-usable imo

McAfee is a pretty dire attempt at software.

Here's the steps on removing McAfee Consumer applications. this will clean up pre-installed from Dell, etc.
