    i have this cpu http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=309861&s=sc

and i wish to get a 8800gts graphics card
    i currently have a 7800gts
will i notice much of an increase or will my old cpu just bottleneck it

if i decide to get a new cpu will i have to change my mobo since the new cpu's are a different socket to my 939socket

Your cpu will bottleneck the card somebit, but not a huge amount...

You would still see a huge increase in performance from a 7800gts to 8800gts...

For your cpu a 9600gt/8800gt would be a better investment than a 8800gts imo...

The 9600gt is a class card and they overclock very well...

I'd definitely go for that XFX 9600GT, will run any game bar Crysis at high settings on a monitor 20" or below and you won't have channeled too much money into a dead end platform (s939).

Completly agree. The 9600gt is meant as a midrange card, but packs a high end punch.
