Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Whilst at College, you are, without a doubt going to get ill. Whether it's because of excessive drinking and partying, unprotected sexual relations, or bad living conditions, you can resign yourself to the fact that you're going to, at some stage, want to hide in your duvet and have a legitimate excuse for missing lectures.

There is a health centre avaible on campus. It situated in the Henry Grattan building in room CG 13, just past the Street. The Health Service is part of the Student Affairs team.

If students are worried about a health problem, they may call to the Student Health Centre. Student consultations are free of charge with modest charges for additional services.

    How to make an Appointment
Please telephone 7005143 / 7005766 (omit first three digits if using an internal DCU phone) or call to the Health Centre at the following times:

    Morning 9.00 to 10.00 and afternoon 14.00 to 15.00.

Please note outside of these times there is no facility for making routine appointments.

    Cancellation of Appointments
Please notify the Health Centre if you no longer require your appointment, as there are a limited number of appointments each day. Failure to do so leads to significant waste of Doctors' time and deprives other students of the opportunity to see the Doctor.

    Nursing Service
There is a nursing service available at the following times:

    Semester Time: 8.30 - 10.30 11.00 - 18.30
    Vacation: 9.15 -10.30 11.00 - 12.45 14.00 - 16.30

    Doctor Service
The Health Service runs a daily doctor's surgery (male & female doctors available), by prearranged appointment only. While this service is a valuable support it is not a comprehensive GP service. Students are advised to attend their own GP for out of term service by appointment only.

We also have a physiotherapist clinic and a Psychiatric clinic available by appointment only. Students need to be referred by the Doctor to attend these clinics.

    Please note the following:
Doctors' surgery available to full-time DCU students only.
Part time students and staff are not eligible to attend.
Doctor consultations available by appointment only.
Service available during semester time only, there is no out of term service.
Medical examinations for employment, travel or year abroad are not carried out at the Health Centre.
House calls to students' homes or campus residences are not carried out.

    Physiotherapy Service
A weekly physiotherapy clinic is available to full time DCU students for the treatment of sports injuries. The service is by appointment only and does not provide treatment for general or long-term health conditions.
