Choosing a graphics card

    Well, 2 cards actually.

    1. PCI-E card for racing games (rFactor, LFS, GTR, GTR2, etc)
These games aren't as power-hungry for graphics as most fps games, but still need a bit of grunt for the AA and high resolutions.
I'm thinking the 8800GT card are good, a bit overkill mabye, but shouldn't have any problems running these games at the higher res ?
    (rest of spec is a c2Duo 6750 on a P35 mobo, currently a 17" CRT, but hopefully a 22" syncmaster soon)

    2. Silent AGP card.
Need one of these to complete my htpc build. Nothing extreme, just for TV output, so S-video would be good. (Don't need hdmi) thinking a 7600GS or better ?

Have lost touch with whats good these days, even after reading up on tomshardware, and don't want to overspend if a lower spec card would be just as good for my needs.

    Cheers.

8800gt would be perfect for gaming, and they have quiet stock coolers on them too. You could even use a 9600GT too, they are rather impressive cards for their price.

As for a AGP card something like this http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=315783 would do you fine.

    Thanks.

Funny, I was just looking at that 6200A card when I read your reply.

    Hey Dealgan!

I wouldn't personally go for that 6200 and if i were you i would instead go for The Point Of View 7200GS 256MB DDR2, which is actually a fair bit cheaper i.e. € 26

And if you are looking for a decent graphics card than listen to Anti and go for the 8800gt. You can get one from ebuyer for around € 180, like this MSI 8800GT http://www.ebuyer.com/product/134966

    Good Luck!
