The office is in crisis- our favourite sambo shop has transmuted into ‘a concept sausage store’ so now we are on the look out for new options. Here’s what we are after:

    Mandatory
    • Sambos, wraps, salads etc adhering to the ‘modern Irish’, ‘slow food’ etc concepts ie. yes to sunblushed tomatoes, no to premixed tuna and mayo. Coleslaw use should be limited.
    • Reasonably priced (E 6 is really pushing in)
    • Food prepared in a reasonable time (pre-made is fine, so long as not really old)
    • Some decent sandwich suggestions
    • Will keep our bellies full until dinner time

    Desirable
    • Not busy
    • quick
    • cheap
    • nice, smiley staff

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Moved this to Dublin City Forum as you have a better chance of help here. Unless of course your new place rips you off then by all means, come back to the Rip Off Ireland forum ;)

I have been working in this area myself for the 5 years. I suggest you start bringing lunch in with you.

there are no lunch places around here

There are loads of places to eat around lwr baggot street. Unfortunately the chances of getting a seat in anywhere but burger king are slim. Irishbird is right, bring your own lunch in. Maybe make a sunblushed tomato sandwich with a small amount of coleslaw, because there is nothing that falls under "Not busy, quick, cheap and nice, smiley staff"

BK's is on Upper Baggot St, where nearly every place if packed at lunch. If you were to head over the bridge, Artizan and Donnybrook fair are good options.

Personally I'd prefer bring a packed lunch than pay the ridiculous dublin sambo prices.

Is there not a BK on Lower Baggot Street aswell, near the AIB branch.

The swedish food company are/used to be in a basement on lr baggot,on the left, coming from the green, just after the turn for pembroke st, I say used because I'm not sure of they are still there. Fab food,if a little expensive. The sliced breast of chicken with stuffing and coleslaw used to have me drooling all morning.

Your right there's one on Upper and Lower Baggot seat. One beside Doheny and Nesbitts and the other beside the Permanent TSB.

The Cafe Sol on Baggot St always has 5 or 6 vans in the morning when I'm passing ready to deliver food to offices, I assume it's reasonable and do what you're looking for?

Donnybrook Fair do good sandwiches and noodles, and there's a small bakery/coffee shop on Mespil Rd that's good too

There's also two Bagel Factories (and two BKs, Insomnias, and more - something I noticed a while ago!)
