Are these guys retarded or what that they don't need to obey traffic laws?

A few times now (usually when there's a bit of a queue turning right into Lucan) a bus will zip up the free-er flowing left lane and throw on it's indicator to barge its way into the right lane near the top of the queue - thus blocking the left amber arrow lane while it waits for the lights to go green for a right turn and for someone to let them in...

Is there not a bus stop on the left up near the lights?

Wasn't there a thread on this behaviour recently over in Commuting/Transport? If I recall right the attitude there (from all the eco-friendly public transport supporters and staff) was that because the bus is carrying more people it somehow automatically should get right of way, and those selfish car drivers should happy let them cut in at the end of the top of the line

(Ahh yes here it is: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055224938 )

Personally I think the traffic laws apply to everyone equally - including off-duty Gardai incidentially!
