Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Come on Sevilla, don't f*ck it up please :(

Well done to l'Arse, they spurned so many chances I thoughts they'd end up paying with a sucker punch. Milan were hopelessly slow and dull-witted once thier initial attack faded.

As for Utd, well boo. Thats all.

    Mike.

Celtic did well enough. Hartley and Naka must have misplaced 3 out of about 60 passes combined. Much, much better performance than the first leg. Obviously terrible off the ball though.

jaysus, really shows that the italian league in now way way behind the premiership...its a league in serious decline.

    in the last 3 years,

    united hammer roma.
    liverpool beat juve.
    arsenal knock out juve.
    arsenal knock out milan.

    liverpool comfortable over inter.

Excellent performance by Arsenal. If Diaby is dropped then all the better. He was terrible tonight I thought.

Arsenal looked amazing. That result is really going to fire them up for glory this season.

So what was Xavi's goal like?

Now it's an Everest-sized task for Gordon Strachan's boys. Ronaldinho plays one of those passes where he puts the ball one way while looking the other, Silvinho provides the cross and it's not clear who gets the final touch but Xavi gets the nod for now.

Thats one of "those" passes leading to a goal in each leg for Ronaldinho.

    Past it? Never.

Great to see Arsenal go through, well deserved.

United go through, were a class ahead of Lyon but played a **** negative formation (again)
Ronaldo played great in the first half IMO, poor in the second half, but then again, so did Uniteds attack. Negative tactics again from Fergie is gona cost us I think :/

great passing move and a good flick on the near post, but should have been saved. a soft hand by the keeper was the description of the commentary team..

Dunno about that. He linked up pretty well with Adebayor and Hleb, despite 1 or 2 dodgy passes on occasion. I thought Eboue was much worse..

I thought that was one of Diaby's bettergames too, excellent passing, and some strength on the ball. Eboue an absolute waster.

First half extra time finished in Sevilla game

Think Diaby plays on the left to "compete" with other midfielders allowing Flamini and Cesc to go forward, though he "competed" with milans 3 fairly well, passing was poor when trying to play an attacking pass but when doing the crab he done well.

why do fenerbache have 3 stars on their jersey?

Milan were beaten in the midfield. Arsenal were the first to every ball, tackle and header. You have to question whether Pirlo and Gattuso still have to desire to continue winning trophies.

Looked like he blew up 3 seconds early.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,341 ✭✭✭radiospan

I'd say he blew up way early. There was an injury in the 2nd half too.

It's on both Sky Sports 2 and Sky Sports 3, they even have different analysis on each channel before the penalties (Richard Keys, Poyet, etc on 2, Jeff Stelling etc on 3)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,677 ✭✭✭Chong

Disappointed I missed out on the actual match due to watching Man U.

    Come on Fenerbahce!!

The bloody ref got 2 mins of treatment himself and added none of it on...bizarre:confused:

    ...Seville to progress I'd say...

Well done to Arsenal, really thought they would get beaten today. Probably got a little luck for the first goal, but hey lots of goals like that change matchs, worth a dink from there every now and then.
Gives Liverpool a bit of hope going to San Siro next week :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,224 ✭✭✭✭SantryRed

None of the Fenerbahce's keeper's saves should be allowed.

HE's deliberately coming off the line before the peno's are struck.

Should be pulled up by the linesmen.

Rofl. First time a Turkish team has made the quarters.

    I'd take that mayordenis

    Mike.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,894 ✭✭✭Nunu

By the way what ever happened to the keepers have to stay on their line rule...ridiculous:confused:

Every save from the Turk he was way off his line

    Hey, logic is logic.:)

Nah but seriously, they seem to raise their game against decent teams but have a serious "meh" attitude to the lesser ones. It's not good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Delighted to see Fenerbahce go through, an English/Spanish stranglehold is no good for the comepetition.

A good chance there will be no Italian team in the quarter finals

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

Jesus I want Fenerbache in the next round :) Them or Schalke/Porto please :)

Seriously though, why are keepers constantly allowed cheat in penalties! It's a ****ing joke
