Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A bit pathetic. Don't they know footie fans will watch almost any live FTA game?

    Mike.

ye and they could have just shown the game with no panel if they wanted.

I don't know what programmes will be on instead of it but you can be guaranteed the viewing figures would have been bigger for Porto v Schalke.

Roma looking good, Aquilani just had an unbelievable shot off the bar-watch for it in the highlights.
As a Utd fan I wouldn't like to meet Roma in the next round, if they qualify

Aquiliani playing well, game is odd tho both teams going for it, someone should roma they winning 2-1 unless they think they need an away goal.

They know that they can't concede one, so they're going for it. It's refreshing to see both of them going for it, no nervous tension from either team

have to disagree, he been played out of position at 2 clubs now and it just doesnt suit him. Wenger wanted "the beast" when he was with Sevilla as it was a foil for everything him and Henry would have been devastating in any league.
With Real hes played a midfielder.

The guy is an out and out striker, you put him as a focal point of your attack and he scores, at Sevilla where he got the name "the beast" he was the focal point, 2 wingers 2 CMFs kanoute playing SS and baptista as a CF. Feed him the ball and he will score, he scored 38 goals in 63 games for them, mostly getting on the end of a cross or finsihing from a kanoute pass.

Missed the first half of the Roma match, glad nothing has happened. 2nd half should be really good though.

Yeah Aquilani's a class player. It's more or less a full strength Roma team tonight. 5 top class players in Aquilani, De Rossi, Perrotta, Mancini and Totti. Pity Chivu left them as he's much better than Juan imo.

    Baptista is no centre forward.

He played as an attacking midfielder in behind the strikers at Sevilla. He's hopeless at leading the line.

tbh its not hard, all you need to is defend.

Reals defending tonight was shocking seriously Pats could defend better than both of those goals, free headers from set pieces and crosses. Any defender watching those 2 goals will cringe.

Raul was well offside for his goal tool. Roma to get Chelsea now in the next round and knock them out. ;)

Gutted about Madrid not getting through (never ever thought Id say that). Now that they are only in 1 competition they can concentrate solely on the league and no doubt win it... Also its a shame to only see 1 Spanish team represented in the last 8, not a fair reflection of La Liga imo and I can see the English media having a riot with that... They were absolutely terrible though, they didnt deserve to go through, but they havent deserved to get anything from loads of games this season..

4 English teams* against 1 Spanish team ?? The stats don't lie this season , the Spanish have not been strong enough.

    * I still hope Inter will get a result but for some reason as much as i want then to , i can't see it happening. ;)

Arse, 4 english teams have 4 good managers with fookin millions to spend, with the money on offer in the PL 4 english semi finalists should be expected.

real and sevilla simply could not defend, both teams have excuses Navarro injured for Sevilla and Ramos left, Real are just not very good at defending. Barca winging it , they got the handiest draw and their superiority showed vs a poor team.

Inter are doomed, no way they will score 3 vs pool. Unless PL teams get each other i would expect an all english final. As Roma Fenerbache etc: certainly wont trouble them.

A good manager and money and having more of it then everyone else will always win, look at the Pls dormant years they couldnt compete with italian and spanish wages now they can and they getting into a dominating position.

The 2005 year will be seen as the start of a period of domination a la 1977-1985 for English teams.

    Mike.

Glad Roma went through, fantastic performance. Not to mention Raul being a million miles offside for the equaliser.

We're gonna have to be wary of Vucinic too, he really made a difference.

My tip of the decade, foreign clubs to have their police beat the **** out of english fans and demand they be banned from europe again.

Seriously tho does any top 4 PL team fan not expect/(hope with some optimism for the fainthearted) their team in the final?

    oh poll idea :D
