I've heard from some people who've playe it that it's only alright, nothing special. You get some mileage out of the co-op, but not much. It's more of a game to rent than to buy.

Theres one review on metacritic, Finnish magazine Pelit, giving it 87%...

A very good co-op shooter with reasonably intelligent enemies. Team aspects are emphasised at every turn. It's nothing too special as a single player experience, though.

Looks like another overhyped game. Reminds me exactly of Kane and Lynch. Not really interested in it.

Got this yesterday. Played a bit on single player and found myself getting a bit bored very early on. I see the promise in co-op though and will giving it a bash with a mate tomorrow. So I'd say avoid it unless you have someone to play through the campaign with

Ign's review seems pretty positive despite the negative vibes I'd been getting from their coverage. It's one I wouldn't mind d/ling a demo for to help me make my mind up.

If by local play you mean co-op on the same machine it has that. Splitscreen. And 2v2 online with splitscreen.

If it was region free I'd pick it up but apparently it isn't. Not really worth 60 odd euro by the sound of it.

Well the US and NTSC-J are already confirmed by play asia to not be region free. There's only the separate Japanese release and based on the other 2 regions I highly doubt it will be.

Of course I hope I'm wrong!

Just got back from the store with two copies of Army of Two, my mind already blossoming with mercenary exploits, when it suddely became clear that the game has no LAN option.

So it does have splitscreen.

its stupid the way EU copies of the game can only be played online with other EU copies. i cant play with my American friends on Live. what was the point of doing this?

when playing with another player, on live or split screen its really engaging and rewarding. Excellent cover system too and the waepons and upgrades are great. Also the player interaction is very funny, expecially when the guys start air playing the guitar and scream "LADIES LIFT YOUR SHIRTS!!" hehe.
Its different and everyone won't like it but im really enjoying it so far.

btw my add on xbox live is Mikeh500500 (don't ask about weird name)
