Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

"inventor of the xbox"..... not exactly hard to make a PC look like a games console, is it?

Play nice dregin. If it wasnt exactly difficult why didnt you do it ?

Anyway ill pop my head into this. Only stick to the pc for gaming for obvious reasons, heh. Never played the xbox but im sure this will be interesting non the less.

lol. What exactly did the xbox do that was innovative apart from cram a PC into the space once occupied by a console? It's original name was "directx box" for a reason,

Saying that it's merely a PC crammed into a box is rather shortsighted in fairness. While alot of the hardware is based on PC parts, could a machine with a 733MHz CPU coupled with an old GeForce 3/4 play some of the games found on the XBox? I think not in fairness.

As for Blackley himself, not only did he "invent" it but he also came up with the initial proposal and lead the team that developed it. Plus he's been involved in several high profile studios within the games industry including Looking Glass, creators of both the System Shock and Thief series.

All that is certainly reason enough to go, pity it's during working hours but fair play to the Physics Dept. for getting such a high profile speaker. :)
